Overall Satisfaction with Mailchimp

MailChimp is used in my organization for direct marketing purposes. It enables us to communicate with our newsletter subscribers and send out emails to our donors. We use the segmentation function and lists in MailChimp, as well as its design capabilities, to reach different audiences and subscribers. We use MailChimp on at least a weekly basis to send out merged emails, newsletters, donor solicitations, and more.
  • List segmentation
  • Email design
  • Metrics and reporting
  • Ease of use
  • Functionality
  • Options for training/skill development for new users
  • Greater reporting availability and granularity
  • More segmentation options enables us to reach more subscribers.
  • Ease of use enabled us to train more staff on its functionality.
  • Ability to design emails improved our brand recognition and impact, increasing opens.
I think that MailChimp is better than Constant Contact and Vertical Response (not listed). Those are the two main ones that I have used. I think it is the most simple, easiest to understand, and best designed program of its type that I have tried. I worked for an organization where we had to train some people on the system who were not familiar with this type of product. MailChimp was by far the easiest for them to grasp without sacrificing features or appearance. In addition, it did everything that we needed it to do for a small organization with limited output and segmentation needs.
MailChimp is very easy to use and understand. The design makes sense, looks modern and updated. It is not hard to grasp how it works and it is easy to set up an email campaign in a short amount of time. In addition, the design options are very easy to use and you can make a professional looking email with limited design experience and knowledge. This was very important for me in terms of usability. We wanted our emails to look professional and polished without having to hire a design team or people who were experts in graphic design, coding, etc.
It was beneficial to be able to integrate MailChimp across the organization, although we had limited needs. Things like forms and newsletter sign-ups were easy to do through MailChimp. I know that there were also options to link to social media, which we did not take advantage of. Since our needs were limited in terms of marketing, we probably did not make full use of MailChimp's marketing features.
We had success in our open rates and received feedback that our newsletters looked a lot better - more polished and professional. I think that a lot of people judge an organization by how their emails and marketing materials look. Even with a small staff and limited budget, we were able to present ourselves in a positive light through using MailChimp since it looked far less dated than the system that we used before. It was also a huge success to train multiple staff members on MailChimp and have them grasp how to use it - something that we were not able to do with more "clunky" and difficult to use systems.

Do you think Mailchimp delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Mailchimp's feature set?

Yes

Did Mailchimp live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Mailchimp go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Mailchimp again?

Yes

In my opinion, MailChimp is the best option for a smaller organization or an organization with limited staff capacity and email marketing needs. If you want a simple, easy to use, and well-designed platform to send out the occasional newsletter and email campaign. I think that MailChimp is less appropriate for a large organization, with complex needs. For example, it was difficult to link MailChimp to our CRM, and to do advanced segmentation and reporting with the results. But for basic needs, I think it is the best option out there (better than ConstantContact, etc).

Through MailChimp we were able to use simple segmentation features and improve the look and feel of our email marketing materials. It was easier for us to integrate sign-up forms and customize emails to individuals using their built-in tools. This helped us to appeal to more subscribers and improve our brand image.
We were able to improve our customer segmentation, mostly by importing lists that we pulled from other sources and creating different lists in MailChimp. We did not take as much advantage as we could have with MailChimp's internal tools, but I think that was beyond the expertise of our staff and the needs of our organization. I know that it is not as granular as other systems that I have used, but I think it makes up for that in simplicity and ease of use.
