Overall Satisfaction with Mailchimp

When I used Mailchimp, it's main use was to help my clients to send out weekly and monthly newsletter. Both me and my clients where overall happy with Mailchimp as a mailing-system and a CRM.The main reason why Mailchimp is used, is because of it's simplicity. Although it seems a bit confusing at first to use the interface, when you find where all the main features are hidden, it is a breeze to work with.

However, it also has a few downsides. The confusing interface makes it a bit difficult to create a quick workflow. This becomes especially apparent when you want to send out a full campaign quickly. Also, the overall design looks a bit dated, especially in 2023. Even though it has everything you need, from email designer, campaign editor and contact list is present and working perfectly, it feels a bit like working with older software.
If you can look past this, you are presented with a solid piece of email marketing software that will help you to create valuable connections with your clients.
ou will not be disappointed for sure.

As an extra, if you are a small company, helping clients to create their email marketing campaigns, Mailchimp has a solid way of connecting them with your account, so you can manage everything that is agreed with your clients.
  • As a client portal to guide them with marketing emails
  • As a solid CRM system
  • As your main marketing email software to connect with future clients.
  • The design is a bit outdated. Not a big problem per-se, but it sometimes feels a bit out of place in 2023
  • Some functionalities are a bit hidden in the menus. Even when you think you know where they are, it still feels counter intuitive to have to look for them.
  • Basic outreach to existing and new clients works perfectly.
  • Having sales conversations with clients.
  • Managing several clients with their online marketing.
After switching to MailerLite, I noticed a big shift in usability. Even though Mailchimp has all the features that you might want in an email marketing program, the simplicity of MailerLite makes it a lot more workable.
Especially if you need to make some quick changes or have to create unplanned events or campaigns, you notice the speed that you could be working with in MailerLite. This does not feel the same in Mailchimp, as mentioned before.
If you are unsure between these two, you can sign up for free accounts on both, and try them out for a few months to see what fits your business needs.
As mentioned before, the software feels too outdated to compete with modern online marketing software. Features are hidden at odd places, sometimes deep within a menu, and the editing parts of Mailchimp feel very limited.
They have many features to make it good enough to be usable, but it impacts the workflow more than I would like it to.
Mailchimp does have a solid look and feel, which is appealing to many of my clients, who want a piece of software that "simply works".
Also, it will be one of the few that end up being shared within the communities that I work with (musicians) and is often the go-to piece of software that they choose.
So, adding them to a Mailchimp acount made it a lot simpler to help them to create valuable marketing e-mails.
Mailchimp was one of my first online email platforms. Along with their online academy (which I highly recommend!) it makes for a good first experience in the online marketing world.
You will quickly learn how to build, edit and write solid emails for your campaigns, and also build up your professionality step-by-step by incorporating more technical strategies, like automation and drip campaigns.
