Overall Satisfaction with Marketo

It is being used to create and send email campaigns plus tracks and houses our leads through paid ads/landing pages.
  • Great customer service
  • Nice reporting options
  • Ease of finding specific leads
  • The emails created in Marketo change when sent to Outlook emails - even with hard coding, fonts, colors, spacing, image sizing changes.
  • Need to offer landing page templates.
  • Would like to have a select all feature when working with email templates - takes forever to select and delete modules.
  • Lead Management
  • Prospecting / New Business
Increase customer engagement with our products/papers/webinars, generate sales interest - for newcomers to contact us for more product/service information.
MailChimp was easier to use - limited code issues with email platforms, however, less robust at times. Better WSYWIG options.
Odoo was more robust than Marketo, but much of what I wanted to do required hard coding.
Great service when not sending to Outlook emails. I would like to automatically create mobile responsive landing pages instead of having to choose what goes on the mobile version with no control of design. Marketo needs to offer more templates for emails and landing pages. I am constantly having token issues where it does not appear the same in a delivered email as it originally does in a draft. Would like for Marketo not to stall out when I try to change the spacing setting on a module and then am forced to refresh and try again.

Learnings & Advice

I have been able to create robust email campaigns that get scheduled/automatically triggered depending on the actions that users take which makes it easier to reach out to larger numbers of people.
I am able to create landing pages specifically made for people to view after engaging with our paid advertisements. I am also able to have those people fill out Marketo forms which are a part of a smart campaign that send our sales team email notifications based on those form fills.
Take the overview course for $1500 that walks you through how to use it. Great instructor and helped expedite the learning process.
How to hard code their existing templates which you always have to do unfortunately.
Pay an outside contractor for better mobile responsive email and landing page templates. The ones Marketo offers are dated and difficult to work with.
