Overall Satisfaction with Marketo

Marketo is being used for marketing automation. Mainly used across our marketing division but will roll out to other business units. We needed a powerful marketing automation tool that fit within our budget.

  • Its user interface is still a little outdated but improving.
  • Creating emails is still not as clean as a Mail Chimp's editor.

We use it for our general marketing I.E sending BULK emails, but we can now personalize this further by using our customer attributes in the database. We are now starting to automate marketing emails based on our user's journeys on our website and personalizing the actions they take on the website into relevant emails for them.
We selected Marketo based on the cost compared to some other providers and based on more powerful features that some of the more mainstream players didn't allow for. We need to be able to change and update our database regularly by segmentation, updating individual records, or creating new lists based on certain criteria.
It's great for a small to large business with staff that can be trained and responsible for the implementation and creation of the templates, etc. We have only 2 people who are in the system day to day and this provides enough for our team to implement strong marketing campaigns.
