Overall Satisfaction with Marketo

Our company uses Marketo within our sales and marketing organizations.
Marketing uses the system to score leads to qualify for our sales team. Additionally, we send communications from the platform daily to our various lists. The platform is integrated with our CRM, so our sales team are able to see interesting moments and/or other insights from Marketo when working with new people.

Each scenario, we simply use the tool as a means to get the word out. Whether we are announcing a new product or new functionality, we need to let our customers know. In a way, this is like upselling since much of our functionality ties in with retention and add-ons for our current customers. We also use Marketo to score our leads, ensuring that they reach a certain threshold before being delivered to the sales team. Anything that happens in Marketo is reflected in our CRM for the sales organization to see. That includes all lead management and lists that we market to.
Marketo allows us to position ourselves not only to new prospects, but our current customers. It's important to have a reliable tool like Marketo to ensure that we are constantly communicating to our stakeholders on what's going on in addition to capturing those we'd love to speak with.
I've used ON24 for their Event/Webinar landing page functionality. The issue with ON24 is that it does not have the power behind it like Marketo does. ON24 is a great webinar platform, but their analytics, scoring, and lead management capabilities just aren't there. It's not an alternative by any means.
Marketo is a great tool for a company looking to take their marketing automation to the next step. It's important to have people that are trained or certified in the tool, as there is complex functionality that cannot be learned simply. It's also important to be in contact with your Account Manager to ensure that all aspects of the tool are being utilized properly.
