Overall Satisfaction with Miro

I use Miro as a collaboration tool with another team member. As a designer, I use it for workshops and creativity sessions as well as presentation support, basically replacing powerpoint and those painful tools.
  • can handle a lot of images and data, perfect for big programs with lot of collaborators.
  • Love the presentation mode with features like "bring everyone to me."
  • Integration in teams is quite handy since it's the main communication tool the company uses.
  • Exporting frames in different formats to create presentations faster is also really appreciated.
  • The sketch feature could be improved, we used sketch more than words, and the tools are lagging and not super smooth to use. Also frustrating things like selecting, for example, it selects every single line.
  • We end up copy paste sketches from photoshop/sketchbook but not everyone in the company has access to those tools.
  • g., a tool like a sticky note where you can sketch inside, and you can move the note instead of the sketch would be great.
  • Since I used it for presentation purposes also, I often use the export function to create a presentation later on, but I need to repeat it all the time with the same actions. e.g., using predefined frames (presentation slides) and being able to export everything as a compiled .pdf .ppt or .key.
  • Also, in presentation mode, it would be nice to be able to choose the order of frames to go through. Because the way we work in this living document is to move around frames left to right up to bottom, and when you are in presentation mode, it goes all over the place. So redefining the presentation order without having to move every single item from one frame to another to sort it out.
  • Not many fonts and styles to play with would be good to constitute your own library with a logo and personal font so you can have a more personalized board for client presentations.
  • Positive : foster collaboration with team members less.
  • Positive : faster feedback between collaborators, less need of presentations anymore.
  • Negative: we have to back up our work on the internal server, but most of the information, drawing, and updates are lost in translation since it takes a lot of time to work in 2 environments (Miro and local servers), becoming hard to archive projects internally.
I have never had to integrate Miro with other products myself, so I don't know. I'm only using miro through the team sometimes and think it's pretty smooth; and also see an online portfolio where people have integrated directly on their webpage.
Teams has been the bigger impact on remote collaboration since only few department in the company use miro. But when we integrated other department in the process and send them the miro board, it has been really easy for them to navigate and use the basic features... They do not use the full features, but its more than enough for them to be able to participate in creative workshop for example.

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

Well suited: I think Miro is a great tool for gathering all data in projects and keeping everything in the same place; it's well suited for designers who need to lay out their different concepts et gather teams for creative sessions. Less appropriate: for program managers, it's less appropriate to create their planning, update their time plan and keep all information sorted out; the tools are less handy for them. They are more comfortable with more traditional software like Excel and Powerpoint.
