Overall Satisfaction with Miro

We've been using Miro for a long time to map out processes, journeys, and in co-creation workshops in which we need a lot of feedback from colleagues. Miro is specially helpful when there are differing opinions, because everybody can put their knowledge in one single board, see what others are contributing and they sometimes realise that the were assuming a lot of things that were not correct.

Plus the fact that we can organise the different boards in different projects makes the work of keeping everything in place so much easier...!!!
  • Connector dots when selecting an asset so placing an arrow is a one-click operation
  • Tabulator operative to move from post-it to post-it quickly and spawn new stickies quickly
  • The resources available embedded into Miro (emojis, images, etc)
  • How quickly it is to create a flow chart with the assets available
  • Capacity to customise colours on stickies
  • Capacity for freeform (or modify the shape) to create symbols
  • Faster time to production and delivery to market
  • Improved collaboration across teams
  • Greater visibility of the customer experience and pain points
  • Increased communication across relevant stakeholders in the experience
It has allowed us to keep track of multiple fronts at once: from sprint planning, retrospectives, and other ceremonies, to mapping out huge journeys and stakeholder maps that have allowed us to unite in tacking different inefficiencies within the business. Plus, ensuring that all of the employees has SSO credentials really helps in knowing that everyone can have access to the board you've just created (sometimes permissions need to be checked, but that's easy)
Initially Mural was the preferred option, but ultimately, the only benefit Mural had the double click option to spawn new stickies, so we quickly went away from it since Miro had far more features that were useful to us. It's been a while since then to be fair.

Microsoft Teams' whiteboard is a quick way to doodle and get some ideas out into some paper, definitely the advantage is the free-forming solution. But without a tool that allows proper drawing it's not a great way to allow for further investigation and development before jumping away from Teams

In the case of FigJam, this is the one that could hold more of a candle to Miro and the use-case to when to use each of the tools is dependent on the type of project and whether or not it is part of the Design collective or if it is something that will be shared company-wide.

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

Miro is very well suited when there are differing opinions across collaborating departments on what are are the tasks that happen through a specific customer journey. Being able to quickly highlight team's activities and show the flow of the different tasks while exposing where people may have assumptions, where there are inefficiencies, and when there are broken channels of communication really helps develop a sense of close collaboration.

Miro is starting to not be as well suited in proper workshops, specially as there are a lot mor opportunities of having in-person collaborating workshops, it forces a hybrid dynamic which makes Miro a lot harder to handle.
