Overall Satisfaction with monday.com
We were looking for a tool that could be easily set up and would provide us [with] a simplified platform for Project Management. We started using the platform aiming to manage our projects and also to control the activities of our departments. Additionally, it would provide at least a medium level of collaboration tools, automation, and viability to integrate to other solutions [like] the Google Workspace (G Suite).
Pros
- Starting creating boards is very easy and productive and it comes with a lot of template samples (examples of views: matrix board, [graphics], Gantt, calendar, timeline, workload, kanban, cards, etc.).
- The ability to create and share Forms that would be filled by the users and data is populated in your boards automatically (e.g. we created Help Desk and Maintenance ticket Form and the tickets are shown in the Department's boards).
- You can collaborate. There is a conversation log that will keep all updated entries. You can attach documents or connect to external sources (e.g. Google Drive).
- The automation library is easy to use and set up.
- There are many business cases and samples provided by the Help Central.
- The platform is very customizable.
Cons
- Some features are currently under development and could upset your implementation needs (e.g. there are some features available for tasks but not for subtasks).
- The Gannt view of the Project Baseline and Predecessors is confusing and this limitation drove us to decide to manage our Gantts in detail using another app (MS-Project).
- There are some limitations when creating Dashboards(e.g. we are unable to select some important columns when creating graphics).
- The automation library could be improved with some specific insights from the customers.
- Positive impact: Centralized view of the tasks in the course in the organization (handful for the PMO).
- Positive impact: The ability to release new boards to the departments.
- Positive impact: The boards helped the departments to consolidate metrics
- Positive impact: The collaboration helped the departments to save time and reduce e-mail triggering.
- Positive impact: The ability to integrate with our LECOM BPMS through API
Currently, the adoption of SaaS is very handful for the companies. We never experienced a Monday.com downtime. The platform is very reliable, the performance fits our needs.
