Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity
I am the only Administrator for Paylocity in my organization, so I manage everything that lives on the platform. The modules we use the most:
- Payroll - Fast and easy process, it's really made our payroll process simple and efficient. We all also get to track employer contributions to benefits, which I think is critical data to show our employees their total compensation.
- New hire onboarding - The onboarding events have been great for capturing all the new hire information and compliance-related documents in a timely and efficient way. Being able to process e-verify on the platform as part of the process is very helpful and allows us to always be compliant
- Performance - Goal setting, journals for ongoing feedback, feedback requests, and performance reviews have allowed us to have an agile and thorough process
- Learning - L&D has been a priority for us and Paylicty has a great module to track employee's learning efforts
- Payroll
- Integrations with 401K provider
- Ongoing performance tracking with journals
- Recruiting - the ability to add candidates manually in a fast and easy way and we approach a lot of passive candidates
- Recruiting - I would like to be able to add candidates to folders to build a pipeline.
- Recruiting - It would be very helpful if we could add tags to candidates ie. experience in x field, bilingual, etc. to be able to search for candidates in the future based on the tags assigned
- Onboarding - I would like for the onboarding process to go beyond the hire date i.e. Tasks the new hire was to complete in their first 90 days in order for us to keep track
- Streamlined processes
- Reduced errors related to payroll
- Data visibility to the employee
- Empowering employees to own their performance management process
Overall, payroll and performance management process have allowed us to be more efficient and allocate our time on more strategic processes
Our team hasn't used these capabilities and we haven't pushed for them to use them yet, as we have changed many systems and process recently and want to pace ourselves.
ADP TotalSource - Too expensive
Paycom - Complicated implementation, not so user friendly
Bamboo HR - too simple, didn't include everything we wanted
Rippling - Too techy, we had to outsource recruiting and performance

Evaluating Paylocity and Competitors
Yes - ADP Run - This was very basic and didn't work as an HRSI, just payroll
- Ease of Use
- Other
The possibility of having all HR Processes in one platform was a major selling point for use. We wanted to streamline processess and Paylocity served that purpose.Other reasons were: price, and how easy the implementation process was.
I don't think we would change our evaluation process. We started looking at platforms with a clear view of what we needed as a company and used those KPI to evaluate all the solutions we saw.
Paylocity Implementation
- Implemented in-house
Yes - We worked on different modules at a time, but implementation was fast and easy
Change management was minimal
Paylocity Support
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
Quick Resolution Good followup Knowledgeable team Problems get solved Kept well informed No escalation required Support understands my problem Support cares about my success Quick Initial Response | Difficult to get immediate help |
I am not sure we did. Probably not. When we evaluated Paylocity we transitioned from a very basic and cheap platform, and it meant a big change in our HR budget.
nothing in particular I can think of.
