Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity

I use Paylocity to process a bi-weekly payroll, request time off, PTO accruals, Pay grades, reporting, HR database, etc.
  • Ease of processing Payroll
  • User-friendly system
  • Not expensive
  • Customer Service knowledge
  • Implementation of product
  • Self-help
  • Reduced costs from using a PEO
  • Reduced errors, processing payroll is easy
  • Data analytics
Paylocity tracks what I need it to. There are automated processes approved by managers that make things quicker.
I have not utilized these tools as of yet but may down the road.
Paylocity is easy to use and easy to train someone else on. It's a user-friendly system although you may have to call in for help when looking for something. Some areas can be confusing and understanding what they do but still, I feel like you can do SO much with this system.

Do you think Paylocity delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Paylocity's feature set?

Yes

Did Paylocity live up to sales and marketing promises?

No

Did implementation of Paylocity go as expected?

No

Would you buy Paylocity again?

Yes

I love the ease of processing payroll. We do not use the "social media" side of it with impressions, etc. I feel like there are so many of those already out there it becomes too much for people.

Using Paylocity

59 - Admin (me), the rest are supervisors who approve time and time off, the others are employees, requesting time off, approving their time cards, punching in/out, viewing/downloading pay stubs.
1 - Human Resources.
  • Processing Payroll
  • Tracking PTO accruals
  • Requesting Time-Off
  • Punching In/Out
  • Approving Time-Off
  • Accessing paystubs
  • Can't think of any
  • Performance Management
Because I know the system and it's one of the easiest out there, although customer service and the tax registration team are something to be desired.

Evaluating Paylocity and Competitors

Yes - A PEO called Obsidian. Super expensive, not competent and didn't need them when we have an HR Manager on payroll (me).
  • Integration with Other Systems
  • Ease of Use
I wouldn't but I would say implementation was not impressive. Someone sales you a product and then poof- they're gone.

Paylocity Implementation

see previous question
Yes - HR & Payroll and Time & Labor were two different processes as I recall.
Change management was a small part of the implementation and was well-handled - I was very thorough in the planning and communication of our new payroll system, plus already having knowledge on using the product made it so much easier for me and the employees.
  • Having items set-up correctly
  • Communication with team on what I was expecting
  • Being ghosted by implementation people and rudeness

Paylocity Support

Whenever I call in, no one can assist, they don't listen to what I am looking for, often put me on hold for a longgggg time, and say they'll follow up- they don't. Tax registration is sub par. I have asked for a list of all tax ID's Paylocity has allegedly set-up on our behalf(invoices essentially) multiple times and have never received them. It's been 1.5 years.
ProsCons
Quick Initial Response
Slow Resolution
Poor followup
Less knowledgeable
Problems left unsolved
Escalation required
Difficult to get immediate help
Need to explain problems multiple times
Support doesn't seem to care
I have no idea. If it's premium that's hilarious.
I would say the 401(k) implementation was probably the best service I have had working with Paylocity and that was in July or August of 2022.

Using Paylocity

It's easy to use to process payroll- I love it.
ProsCons
Like to use
Easy to use
Technical support not required
Well integrated
Consistent
Quick to learn
Convenient
Feel confident using
Familiar
Unnecessarily complex
  • Payroll- processing batches
  • Pay increases
  • Title changes
  • PTO accruals
  • Anything to do with payroll taxes
  • Getting someone on the phone to help you who is knowledgeable
Yes - Just fine- an app to request time off and download pay stubs
