Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity
I use Paylocity using two different accounts. I do payroll for our main retail side of the business as well as our nonprofit side. We have six different locations, and our payroll includes certified payroll, which can be very complex. One of the problems that was addressed with Paylocity is that I no longer use paper to hire candidates and instead use their onboarding module, which saves time and money. I also have several different commission structures, which can be very challenging. Paylocity helps in this area as well.
- Onboarding, no paper, creates everything without taking more time to collect or scan paper.
- Splits complex commissions.
- Does reporting for Prevailing Wage.
- Implementation - HORRIBLE Really need more dedicated account implementation people.
- We need an expert in prevailing wage to work on auto transfer over to L&I. They tell you when you purchase the system it can be done but it can't.
- The reporting system needs to be more user friendly.
- Reduced time spent on payroll.
- Less room for errors.
- Better functionality.
It usually takes three days for me to complete payroll (sometimes 2) every other week so I still would like more automation. That being stated, because of the process I have fewer mistakes and that gives me more time to work on other things.
Unfortunately, I have not had the time to use the tools they offer. I have been a one-person shop for six locations, and I do HR from cradle to grave. Therefore, there are some time-consuming things like 401K audits, conflict resolutions, government policies that create major work on the employer's end, and other things that keep me from exploring these tools. I just hired an assistant so I am hoping that I will be able to work with the surveys, the Community module, and other things that Paylocity offers.
I ventured into Paylocity because I thought they would be able to cut my time with the prevailing wage. Not many companies can help in that area, but I found out Paylocity is limited, and they oversold this function. However, I did choose Paylocity because it seemed more user-friendly and less expensive than other systems.
