Overall Satisfaction with Procore

I utilize Procore on large industrial jobs, primarily automotive. My position as Design Manager requires coordination between A/E's, my construction team, the owner, and subcontractors. For design, we use Procore to store and exchange drawings, specifications, and other documents among the various parties. We post and transfer submittals and RFIs between the subcontractors and the A/E' utilizing the tracking function to keep these from becoming overdue. I enjoy the ability to assign reviewers and due dates and e-mail directly out of the Procore application. I can also use the Meeting Minutes function to record information from the meetings I hold daily and distribute to the team.

I find myself in the field frequently, using Procore on my iPad to pull up the BIM model to compare actual construction vs. the design model. I can also take photos and post them as RFI's or send them to individuals I see needing them. Having the ability to pull up drawings in the field and discuss with subcontractors is a huge help (and I don't have to haul around paper!)

In a broad sense, Procore helps me to keep everyone organized and coordinated. I can make sure everyone is working from the latest design but also pull up historical versions of documents and compare to see what has changed.
  • Procore has a very intuitive and uncluttered interface.
  • It's very versatile and is accessible on the web, desktop app, and mobile app
  • It's powerful and well-rounded, handling almost all aspects of a project (design, construction, close out).
  • It would be nice to mark-up drawings in the app (similar to Bluebeam).
  • I have saved a lot of time not having to store information in multiple places.
  • I've saved money in changes because everyone always has the latest drawings, no rework!
I haven't had a chance to test this out but I understand Procore now links to CMiC which we've recently integrated. I'm anxious to see how they work together and what kind of improvements this makes to my workflow!
I have used Prolog on previous projects and found entering daily logs to be incredibly painful. Using Procore it goes a lot faster and is easy enough that I've actually managed to get the subcontractors to do it themselves!
We first utilized Procore because it was mandated by the Owner. However, after using it for a few years, I've found that it's my preferred platform. It works just as well (if not better!) than the other programs that I've used. It's typically more user-friendly.
It's well suited for large projects where you have a lot of people involved and a lot of information that needs to be transmitted. The ability to cover design, construction, and closeout makes it a powerful tool. It might not be suited for a small job where information could be handled via e-mail.
