Overall Satisfaction with Sage Intacct
Used by Finance Team only - 4 users. Company went beyond the scale of QuickBooks, with multiple entities, departments, projects, etc. - and went to Intacct about 2 1/2 years ago.
Pros
- Great ability to import and upload large batches of information such as credit card transactions and large journal entries (several hundred rows at a time in our case). Avoids keystroke errors and single transaction entries.
- Ability to bridge transactions from outside vendor application through Expense Connect is great. Avoids duplication of entry/efforts.
- The system is always up and running, very consistent. There are very few lag times - which honestly could be on our part or theirs - but is never an issue.
Cons
- Reporting is a challenge. Hard to customize. Makes it a real head-scratcher with such UI friendly programs like QuickBooks to pay a premium for Sage Intacct for the next level of accounting software and lose that ease of customized reporting. On top of that, you can learn how to do it - by paying more money and going a day or 2 early to the annual event.
- Accounts Payable - Manual Payment does not have the Allocation field. In a company like ours, this slows the process down by having to do a JE later to allocate.
- Report headings are very basic. I drill down to create a useful report by the options available, but when it is created, the report headings do now show me what I just selected. For example, if I want a Project based report based on only one of our Locations, and one of our Departments - I can get it. But the report itself when created does not show that anywhere. There are a ton of combinations I could be asking for, would be nice to get detail in header.
- I am not employed at the vantage point to be able to answer this.
I have used many programs over the years in various industries. There is no direct comparison I can make due to ever-evolving technology changes. Sorry!
