Overall Satisfaction with Sage Intacct

Sage Intacct is our main, corporate accounts. We have two other, separate industry-specific accounts packages which consolidate into Intacct. Intacct is the main financial reporting tool. It is used primarily by the finance department, but the CEO has access to its dashboards to be able to review at a glance the company's performance
  • Dashboards: clear, logical, easy to use
  • Dimensions: this enables us to cut information into different reporting slices; e.g. income by client, income by manager, travel expenses by employee.
  • We're quite a simple set up so it does everything we need it to. Maybe some kind of integrated tax return?
  • Sage has reduced data input time, data output time, month end close time. It is generally a much more efficient program than the previous accounts we used.
Potentially something in the future. Our UK HQ is on a different accounts package, but this would be a good solution if we decided to standardize everything.
It works ok with our other accounts packages. We could set something up to make it work better.
They competed hard on costs, but their multi-country consolidation module would have required us to move to a completely new program
It does everything we need it to. It would be relevant for most companies.

Using Sage Intacct

5 - 2 accounts assistants use the program daily and do most of the data input
The financial controller uses the program daily and is the main reviewer and reconciler.
The CFO and CEO have access and can use it look at headline figures, dashboards and KPIs
We do not have in-house support. We rely heavily on Intacct's support for any technical questions
  • Data input
  • Report generation
  • KPIs, dashboards
  • Some fun graphs and charts, but that's about it
  • Our UK and US offices are on different accounting platforms. If we were to all use the same platform it would most likely be Intacct due to its mulit-country consolidation module
We are very likely to renew for the foreseeable future. It would take a very new, highly innovative software to want to make us change. Or our UK HQ might impose a new software on us

Evaluating Sage Intacct and Competitors

Yes - We replaced Datafaction. The user interface and reporting were not easy to use or manipulate
  • Price
  • Product Features
  • Product Usability
  • Third-party Reviews
Price was important, but user interface was the clinching factor
We are happy with the product

Sage Intacct Implementation

I think we had one presentation session purely on change management. In the case of our business this was an unnecessary, time-consuming step.
  • Third-party professional services
Arxis Technology
Change management was minimal - There were only two users who needed to be trained up in the new system. They both desperately wanted to leave the old system so change management was not a problem.
  • Making sure we hit the implementation deadline (start of new financial year)
  • Making sure the balance sheet positions were rolled forward properly
  • Using report writer to generate all the appropriate reports
  • Ensuring the chart of accounts was properly mapped, and the correct dimensions added

Sage Intacct Support

Most questions need to be answered straight away. It's usually easier to google a solution than to ask support
ProsCons
Knowledgeable team
Problems get solved
Kept well informed
Support understands my problem
Escalation required
Difficult to get immediate help
No - I did not know it existed
Implementation was handled very well

Using Sage Intacct

for our purposes it's pretty easy to use. I'm sure there's some more complex functions we would use it for which we currently don't
ProsCons
Like to use
Relatively simple
Easy to use
Well integrated
Consistent
Quick to learn
Convenient
Feel confident using
None
  • Data input is very easier now that we have been set up with all the correct dimensions
  • Bank reconciliations are very straight forward
  • Report writing was a little difficult at first
