Overall Satisfaction with Sage Intacct

Outside of standard accounting ledger maintenance, our Finance department utilizes Sage Intacct for invoicing, revenue recognition, cash collection, sales tax calculation, and accounts payable. We utilize both financial reports and the custom reporting options to build dashboards that helped us significantly reduce the speed of our monthly closing procedures. One of our biggest struggles before migrating to Sage Intacct was the lack of integrations with other systems, and Sage Intacct's ability to do so has been one of the biggest benefits.
  • Financial Reporting
  • Integration with other programs
  • Useful "Help & Support" pages
  • User-friendly interface
  • Custom Report builder could use some improvement
  • Difficult to find answers in the Community for more in-depth issues
  • Some functions that I would consider standard are "advanced" and you have to pay extra for
  • Reduced monthly invoicing timeline from 3-5 days to half a day
  • Reduced monthly closing time by at least 2 days
  • Eliminated manual budget to actual reporting process
Using Sage Intacct, we have been able to complete many integrations that have made automation a reality. We utilize an API to connect our internal contract management platform to Sage Intacct for streamlined subscription billing, a connection with 2cp for an online payment portal, Bill.com for accounts payable management, and Avalara for sales tax calculation, compliance and remittance.
N/A, contract revenue management was not a fit for our organization, so we utilize Order Entry for subscription invoices.
I chose this rating because it is a fairly complex system to configure if you were trying to do it on your own. We worked with multiple consulting firms for both the data migration and configuration parts of the project. We had some hiccups, as to be expected in any complex project surrounding your account records and processes, but overall received adequate training to manage the system moving forward. It is imperative that you choose a reliable implementation consulting firm.

Sage Intacct is a more robust and complex ERP system than, say, Quickbooks. If you have large numbers of transactions and want the ability to easily use and dissect your data, Intacct is excellent. It is a user-friendly platform once you learn how it works, but it is likely not a system that you can pick up and set up yourself. Migrating and using Intacct requires extensive training and meetings with an implementation specialist, the time and cost of which may not be worth it for smaller organizations.
