Overall Satisfaction with SAP SuccessFactors

Employee Central is used as the main Core HR system which feeds local payroll systems. Next to that Performance & Goals, Recruiting, Onboarding and Learning are used to have a single point of access for most HR related tasks for employees across Europe. This helps simplify the employee experience by not having to search for the application they need to access

Pros

  • Broad employee self service capabilities
  • Powerfull integration possibilities
  • High level of flexibility in configuration
  • Full scope HXM solution

Cons

  • Recruiting module desperately needs a full refresh, it is cumbersome to use and lacks functionality
  • Integration between modules (especially the talent modules and Employee Central) need to be tighter
  • People Analytics needs the ability to click through to employees, requisitions, performance forms, etc to make the life of users easier
  • Onboarding needs some ironing out of bugs
  • Learning needs a better home page
  • Visibility of entire workforce
  • Single point of truth for employee data which is used throughout the IT landscape
  • Enabling self service processes for employees
The out of the box integrations are powerful, but they don't always provide the flexibility to setup the business specific exceptions
By making it possible to setup localizations local core HR systems are no longer needed. Only payroll specific data is maintained solely on the local level.

Yes

SuccessFactors is at its most powerful if you combine big parts of the suite. This unlocks a lot of advantages of using shared configuration between the modules.
Employee Central in itself is also a very competent core HR solutions.

Although SuccessFactors is very flexible in the configuration, straying too far away form the standard can leave you a costly and difficult system to maintain.
