Overall Satisfaction with Skype for Business

We use Skype for Business across the entire organization, and it is used for meetings (large team meetings, department head meetings, 1:2:1s, etc.). We are a global organization and we have weekly (if not more) meetings with people from the different regions and Skype for Business helps us accomplish this.
  • It is very intuitive and easy to use
  • Being able to chat, send files, and call from the same program is very helpful (we previously had 2 different programs, one for each activity)
  • It is very easy to have a meeting even with 20 people at the same time, which is hugely important for us
  • It's not a VoIP service and you need internet access to call in, which is problematic
  • Skype for Business has made it easier to hold productive meetings with people from different geographical regions
  • Skype for Business has made it easier to discuss documents and reports in detail because of the screen sharing function
  • Skype for Business is great for recordings so that people who missed a meeting can get caught up without someone having to waste time briefing them, and missing details
We considered Cisco WebEx but decided to go with Skype for Business because it integrated better with the Microsoft Office programs, and they both had very similar capabilities. We also liked that no training was required for our employees before using Skype for Business because it is very similar to regular Skype.
Skype for Business is great for team meetings that include participants from different geographical regions, and especially where we have to discuss documents or reports. The recording function is also great because then anyone who missed the meeting can watch the recording and be caught up. It is not great when you need to have a quick phone call because it is meant for more collaborative meetings and not quick exchanges (you need internet access, and sometimes it's easier to just make a regular phone call).
