Overall Satisfaction with TeamViewer

We support clients who need an affordable method to connect to their computers remotely. It is a very user friendly experience which helps our customers better understand their own technology.
  • Easy to use. It's a very short installation.
  • Mobile TeamViewer applications work well with a standard PC.
  • Affordable
  • We don't have to change our current screen sharing software to utilize TeamViewer.
  • A good internet connection is required for stability.
  • Some minor vulnerabilities (as with every screen sharing advice)
  • Customers don't have any additional costs.
  • Easy to use software means we have much more productive time
  • Our customers find it easy to use
TeamViewer is simple but it also doesn't come with all the security that paid for services have to offer. We tend to use it for smaller projects and for our personal use.

I have enjoyed ScreenConnect for its easy to use interface and the ability to copy/transfer files. I highly recommend it for any MSP. LogMeIn is also a wonderful service that is easy to use and it's easy to add non-tech department employees as users. TeamViewer has been are go to when we cannot set a client up in one of these services. It makes an excellent alternative for screen sharing, but it's not our primary service.

Would you buy TeamViewer again?

Yes

TeamViewer is simple to setup and easy to direct users to use. There are a lot more features in the newer versions than there were years ago.
They do comply with most security guidelines set by 3rd party organizations. It offers a secure connection that is allowed through most firewalls.
Your client wants access to a server, but they don't want to utilize Windows RDP. This is a simple method to get them connected. If you want a more secure method when traffic is being blocked then you can probably find a better service to use. If a client comes to you wanting to work from home then you may invest in something a little bit more supported than TeamViewer. LogMeIn for example has a plethora of features to make sure their users feel secure. Plus it is a lot more optimized for the end user. But if they just want to log in and start working then TeamViewer is good software. I've used it for my home computer for over a year and I don't have a lot to complain about. I would say it isn't ideal for MSP unless you have no other form of screen sharing.
