Overall Satisfaction with TriNet

TriNet is used across the whole organization primarily for payroll and benefits. Being part of this PEO allows us to access better health insurance rates than we were able to obtain with a broker as a small business.
  • Offers a wide array of choices of benefits at extremely competitive rates.
  • Provides reporting that is customizable and useful across the organization for human resources, accounting and C-suite decision making.
  • Changes that affect payroll have to be submitted in a different screen 3 days before payroll submission (such as pay rates and tax withholding).
  • Some service reps have to be reminded to answer requests rather than staying on top of things.
  • Would like to see more topics covered in the online training resources for employees.
Reps are always friendly and helpful. However, some reps have to be reminded to respond to requests that required some research or consulting with other departments instead of a quick answer. My service reps have changed a few times. One failed to respond to my emails a lot and I had to call most times to make sure he received my request. But my current reps are much more responsive. TriNet technology and reps walking me through all the steps has made open enrollment a much easier process.
The website, in general, has all the info I need and is easy to navigate. When TriNet switched to the new reporting system, it was not intuitive to me to find how to export reports to Excel, but my service rep quickly helped me figure it out. Also, the training we utilized from the learning system was buggy and some employees had to log out and log back in multiple times when it would freeze up. It also took several steps to even get logged into the training.
  • The biggest impact was saving money on benefits for both the employees and the company. This increased our benefits enrollment of employees who previously could not afford it.
Before we signed on with TriNet, we were using Paychex for payroll and a separate small business broker for benefits. We evaluated Paychex PEO. TriNet had higher administration fees, but the benefits savings more than made up for it. TriNet also allowed us to keep the carrier we had before and were comfortable with, Aetna, while other PEO's we have looked at either did not have Aetna available at all or not at competitive rates.
TriNet is an asset to small businesses who would like to offer their employees the type of benefits and technology that are available at larger firms. It also gives a smaller company access to the full spectrum of human resources knowledge and services when there is not a dedicated and well-trained HR department available in their organization.
