Overall Satisfaction with TrustRadius for Buyers
I used TrustRadius when our company was looking for a new lead generation platform or software for IT buyers of large US corporations. I was in charge of finding, evaluating, and ultimately purchasing the software but other stakeholders including our sales VP and Marketing Director had to approve the purchase.

- To compare products
- To determine what to ask a vendor
- To validate vendor claims
- To confirm my decision
- To find evidence to support my recommendation to colleagues or my client
- To see what other users think of the product I am currently using
The search by software categories was very helpful and looking at pros and cons about the software by different job titles was very helpful because as the system administrator myself, I needed to know what challenges they were dealing with and what features they really liked. I can quickly sort by the ratings and choose the review by looking at their job titles.
I look for and read more negative comments than positive ones. I look for things like how easy or difficult it is to implement the software and how quickly the software vendors are able to provide service. All these things are more important to me than the cost because one of our company's mottos is fast execution.
The value of having a centralized place to see the reviews is priceless. It used to take us so much time trying to arrange the demonstration, conference calls, and face to face meetings with so many vendors out there and even then it was still very risky because you have a very limited set of information because vendors do not want to share the negative things about their software.
- I like the fact that I could see the job titles of the reviewers which I can see their experience with the software from a different perspective.
- The search by different type of software is very helpful. I also like pre-fill feature in search function when you type in a company name and it provides choice if it is in TrustRadius's database.
- The review score helps me to quickly find good and bad reviews about the company and or software.
- I would love to see the review sort by different job titles or keywords (i.g., Sales, system administrator, marketing) which will be very helpful. As a system administrator, I would like to see the review by other system administrators because I value their review more than other people.
- The search review page could be fine-tuned so there's less scrolling to see more reviews. Maybe have the text (comments) wider?
- On competitor/alternative page, I wish the company logo and the reviews could be smaller and shorter so there's less scrolling to see all the vendors easily.
We do look at the vendor's websites for info, such as case studies, white papers, and the companies that are using their software. If there's a free trial, we try to use it so we can experience the software on our own. Then, after we choose a few companies we like, we go to TrustRadius to see the reviews about the company and software. These reviews also help us to ask right questions to the vendor so we do not miss anything important that we should be aware of.
TrustRadius.com was just easier for me to find information quickly and for some reason, I felt the reviews were more genuine. I am all for finding things quickly and easily. I also really like the fact that TrustRadius doesn't serve Ads and the vendors cannot influence reviews which means I can really trust the reviews.
I know it is very difficult but it would be very helpful to find the avg cost per user or the implementation time of the software. I am aware it will vary greatly by different requirements but I'd still like to have some info.
