Overall Satisfaction
- It is functional. If you are coming from nothing, you can pull up an employee record. It is easy to search for employees.
- The business intelligence type reporting is pretty easy to use.
- The drag and drop reporting is not difficult to use.
- The open enrollment system is pretty good.
- The bottom line is that it is not very flexible. You have to be willing to change your processes to fit how it works vs. tweaking it for your processes.
- Vacation time tracking is awful. They want to adjust from salary and use a different bucket to pay for vacation. Our payroll folks don’t want to do that. Cannot use just to track vacation taken. We never had accurate vacation balances as we didn’t want to mess with people’s salaries. I find it hard to believe that others would want to work this way.
- Global employees – you can put them in the system, but they cannot report to anyone in the US and cannot use same job titles as US.
- We actually have incurred additional administrative costs as we end up spending a lot of time on spreadsheets and routing things around to compensate for deficiencies in Ultipro.
Product Usage
400 - The whole company. They charge by active employees but don’t charge for terminated records, some systems do.
We have no Business Analyst or other IT resource assigned. One person in HR does all the data entry, but no actual system administration done in HR.

They don’t really allow any. You can only set-up processes within their framework. I think they allow customization on their higher end product. We asked for a professional services firm to work with and they couldn’t give us partners.

- EASI - stock option management system
On the payroll side, integration is working with our stock option system – Plan Mosaic/ EASI. We are working on others, but once we found out we were switching, we decided it wasn’t worth it.
Vendor Relationship
They were willing to push implementation costs to following calendar year. Get a guarantee.
