Overall Satisfaction with UserTesting

I use UserTesting to help evaluate future digital experiences for the CDC website. In the past, I've used it to evaluate prototypes for the Home Depot.com. Basically UserTesting helps the organization make the right decisions before proceeding with the development and coding of the product. The scope of my use case was that it helped me pass along those right decisions back to the organization with the data received from UserTesting sessions that I conducted, moderated and unmoderated.

Pros

  • Returns feedback/data back real quick from customers
  • Provides easy to use analysis tools within the platform to analyze data
  • Feedback can easily be shared with people in and outside the organization.

Cons

  • They could make it easier to know how well a screener will succeed
  • They could allow more robust card sorting capabilities
  • They could allow for a research repository within the tool
  • It has helped increase engagement rates for certain webpages
The support team at UserTesting is super helpful, responsive, and overall respectful and nice. They respond to your chat requests very quickly if you need immediate support within the tool, where time is of the essence. If you need support via email, they are quick and responsive there too. They are also very nice and helpful.
It is really easy to use the platform. There is never a time where it is hard to find something like a feature, a template or a draft or even a test. The interface itself is really clear and intuitive. No matter the viewport, it is responsive and easy to read.
I have benefitted from testing digital experiences really quickly, where I was able to turn around tests from inception to results in a couple of days. This fast-tracked way of working really helped the business make key decisions very fast so that we could release and launch new features on time.
UserTesting is much better than UserZoom because their panel of participants is much bigger, in case we needed to find a specific target audience that take a long time to find and source. Also, UserTesting has a much easier to use platform and is more intuitive and simpler to use. UserTesting uses Zoom while UserZoom has their own video recording software which is not easy to use.

It is incredibly well suited when you need to get feedback on experiences or products that need quick feedback fast, also well suited when a team needs to continuously iterate and get feedback on a product. It is also well suited when a team needs to conduct discovery research and understand and define customer problems, and be able to talk to customers in real time. It is not well suited for other methodologies like surveys or paper prototyping.
