Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365

Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 is currently used across our entire estate, backing up all supported components of O365 ensuring our data is secure in our on-site data centres.

Pros

  • Simplistic deployment
  • Granular targeting
  • Simple reporting

Cons

  • Granular/detailed reporting
  • Integration into Veeam Backup & Replication to take advantage of site-to-site replication of data
  • Achieved requirement of local backup of cloud data in O365
Analysis of migration from on-premise to cloud focus application delivery highlighted the need to have a copy of all data still and not to lose the flexibility of this.
Easy deployment, some integration with Office 365 MFA at the time wasn't well documented and errors very generic making troubleshooting prolonged.
Recovering data loss was as simple as described.
We have utilised all recovery options.
Graphical user interface and not web UI, feels robust and easy to use.
Prompt and effective resolution and always going above and beyond.

Simplistic deployment and recovery of data, if multi-copy backup approach is required a different application/layers would be required taking away from Veeam's single pane of glass solution delivery.
