Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Webex Meetings

We use it across the whole organization; we use it internally and to meet with customers. The primary use is meetings/sharing presentations, but we also use it for "simple" conference calls.

It allows us to reach out and meet customers that otherwise would need to travel (or we would need to travel to them); it addresses "quick/focused" meetings. If we need to set a 1-hour meeting it makes no sense to travel 2 hours forth and back. This tool addresses this issue.
  • Screen OR application sharing. You can share your screen (and give remote control) or you can just share the program/presentation relevant to the meeting.
  • Call in. No need to set up anythyng, a button does it all.
  • Polls.
  • The Web plugin does not always start "right away".
  • There is a single chat window; maybe there could be multiple chat windows (one public, one private).
  • It would be nice to give the chance for the audience to scroll back on a presentation.
  • Positive: reduced travel expenses
  • Positive: conference calls over IP (less mobile expenses)
  • Negative: some features overlap with another product (Skype)
Actually we selected WebEx because we are Cisco Partners and we sell the product, but in truth we are very satisfied with the product and it would probably be our choice in the end for conference calls or presentations. Skype is more of a chat tool the way I see it.
We did not actually need support from the vendor up to now, since all the issues (mostly about resources when several meetings were in place) were solved by th einternal IT staff.

Do you think Webex Meetings delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Webex Meetings's feature set?

Yes

Did Webex Meetings live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Webex Meetings go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Webex Meetings again?

Yes

It is always on, being a cloud service
no need to have special "training" since all the tools are veri intuitive
Appropriate:
  • Quick meetings, quick audio conferences, because of the ease of setup.
  • Quick customer PowerPoint presentations
  • Remote technical assistance, since it provides the chance to give control for a remote peer, of your own laptop.
Less appropriate:
  • long meetings, as following someone online requires a certain disposition for "concentration".
  • meetings that need lots of interactivity (everyone speaking)

Cisco Webex Experience

Specially during covid-19 lockdown, it allowed my company to keep on meeting customers and to mantain internal meetings
we also use webex teams as internal instant message/working groups tool,
it is quite easy as a host to give or remove access or presenting privileges to other users.
