Overall Satisfaction with Webex Meetings

Webex is one of the UC platforms used throughout the 27 institutes at the National Institutes of Health. It's used for everything from ad-hoc team/one-on-one tag-ups to NIH-wide town hall meetings (Webex Events).
  • Scalability.
  • Flexibility.
  • Relatively easy user administration.
  • The end-user experience is often described as intimidating - mainly difficult to navigate. Cisco has made enormous improvements over the past year to address the user-friendliness.
  • It has been integral in providing a virtual meeting platform throughout COVID.

Webex is a flexible UC platform which can be scale as needed and provides an excellent platform in which meetings become a collaborative experience.

Using Webex Meetings

Evaluating Webex Meetings and Competitors

Webex has a better platform for organizing and managing large meetings/events. Zoom has a better IU and feedback I have received from my customers has indicated it is the most user-friendly platform of those used at the NIH. Microsoft Teams has and advantage for teams looking to share information on projects (doc share, project organization, IM, collaborative team meetings, integration with O365.

Webex Meetings Reliability

I have had minimal instances where Webex was not available when needed. On the institute level, we have experienced application errors (e.g. MS Office plugin) and users report login issues and difficulty accessing recordings.
