Overall Satisfaction with Wistia

Wilson Dow [is] an experiential event agency. As such we have been leveraging Wistia for both internal and client facing use cases. The features, ease of use, flexibility, and reliability of Wistia allows for infinite applications. The ability to integrate has allowed us to create new tools for delivery of personal user content embedded within video delivery. The more recent additions of channels and podcasts has only further extended capability without complicating process.
  • Wistia has particularly good support which proves critical. While we have redundant systems in place, we have yet found the need to leverage our redundant delivery contingency.
  • Wistia manages to iterate thoughtfully without complicating the UI/UX nor executional work streams.
  • Wistia is accessible and authentic in the way they work with their user base. Whether it be useful content that unearths best practices and use case scenarios, or vetting a new use case to validate, they have done a fine job in building a user community.
  • The reliability of the platform is quite solid. Impressive uptime as well as response time.
  • More flexibility with podcasts with embed options similar to that of video embeds.
  • More flexibility with channels. Channels are a great feature, I'll be eager to see how it iterates.
  • Reliable and accessible delivery of media.
  • Channels is a [great] inclusion for which we continually find new use cases.

Wistia proved to strike a balance between features, support, reliability, and ease of use. Some offer deeper features, but require much more of executional teams, which increases drag and friction in continually distributing new content.

Wistia is well suited for a wide range of use cases. It is easy to adopt on a short runway making it immediately actionable as a solution. It is also highly [scalable] and comes with a level of accessibility and support that is rare with SaaS offerings. When we were initially looking for a media distribution solution, it was readily evident early on that Wistia would be out go-to solution. And, through iteration we have yet to outgrow Wistia.

I can narrow it down to two. Product usability and product features. These two factors would allow us to easily adopt in an efficient manner, but also allow us to sty in the solution and needs and use case scenarios scaled over time.
I would not change anything.

Apply the same care and consideration you would with any implementation.

The product was easy to adopt and leverage. I would likely recommend this approach pending the specific use cases in play.

Configuring Wistia

Configuring is very straight forward and feels just right for this product.
Employ a consistent structure for how to organize and manage media within the platform. Very important with any platform.

The support level available with the Advanced Plan has been more than sufficient over the years.
When we were integrating Impossible Software to allow us to create personal media content targeted to users as part of a campaign series. There was occasion to reach out and validate our methodology as it was a custom integration. Wistia not only provided superior support, they also expressed genuine interest in our endeavor.

Using Wistia

One only need a modicum of digital savvy to being with Wistia. And, building upon those skill sets is a rather natural progression. It never felt like a chore to adopt, grow and excel with the platform.

Wistia Reliability

We use many platforms and Wistia has been a standout in terms of reliability and scaleability.
After several years, we have not come across a situation for which Wistia was not available when needed.
Performance has been consistently reliable.

Integrating Wistia

It was a fairly straightforward integration. We did reach out to wistia to validate our approach and they were very quick and enthusiastic to validate the integration.
  • Impossible software
Impossible software allows for insertion of personal video content. However, delivery directly from Impossible can be problematic in specific use cas e scenarios. Given as much, we elected to integrate with into a workflow in which the various iteration of the media with the personal content would be rendered to Wistia along with the targeted data necessary to incorporate into targeted campaigns with more consistent and reliable playback for end users.
  • At this time, we currently have no immediate plans for additional integration.
  • File import/export
Same as with any other. Thoroughly define the needs and scope of the integration, validate at each step, and appropriately QA the integration at scale.

Relationship with Wistia

Wistia is a very easy vendor to work with. They listen, then advise. They are accessible and really do want to see their user base succeed.
Same as prior to adoption. I am always pleased to have access to real people when the need arises.
We fit perfectly into a defined tier and were able to negotiate on the incremental costs associated with media that exceeded plan limits.
Be up front about what you are looking to achieve as well as objectives. There is no need to play games. Wistia wants it's users to succeed and go out of their way to make that as easy as possible.

Upgrading Wistia

Yes - Yes. We upgraded to access some additional features. There was zero down time and no negative effects coming out of upgrading our tenant.
