This is great for small to medium businesses, giving you more freedom to be where you need to be and not always glued to the office. Larger companies can benefit from the fact that they can have multiple office locations all tied to the same system. Businesses that need a more personal touch may not need all the features that the Virtual Office provides.

If you want your call center to have flexibility, drive customer satisfaction because of really amazing cool stuff you can make decisions on, or give your agents really good data to work with when answering phone calls, inContact does it. scales well and I recommended for any size business.

  • Customizability. You can take as many or as few options your current situation needs.
  • Ease of use. Regardless of a users' technical ability, the intuitiveness is on par with Apple products (Steve Jobs Era).
  • Hands on. 8x8 is great if you are a power user. At Silverado, the company culture was one of doing everything in-house, and 8x8 played a part in that by being able to easily troubleshoot our own issues without needing to deal with customer support. This obviously lead to time and cost savings company-wide.

  • The Studio is amazing. You can design all sorts of logic and process for calls to be routed through, based on integration data, and a whole slew of things. It also defines what you pass to your agent and screen pops.
  • Integration with 3rd party sources real-time is quite good. API interoperability is great.
  • Integration with Salesforce is, though a bit clunky, very functional and works as intended.

  • Their contact address book could use some improvement, but it is functional.
  • Having Fax be an immediate choice in the virtual office desktop app would make it a bit quicker to access faxes.
  • Occasional incomplete calls-- calls sometimes in out of office locations, using the cell phone app, drop without any immediate indication that a call was dropped, so a drop tone at the time a call is disconnected would be very useful as otherwise, you continue to speak only to realize later that the call had been dropped.

  • The analytics are good but the user interface can be challenging to use. If you have a team of expert analysts and need really precise analytics then it can be useful but the learning curve can be high.
  • The way to create "categories" or "topics" is more cumbersome than with other platforms.
  • They eliminated some key external data sources when the acquired Biz 360 which made them a less desirable option for our company.

inContact blows ININ away (now bought by Genesys systems). ININ requires a lot of money to upgrade, wouldn't do any customization for free, and would not be able to integrate as nice with Salesforce.

  • For my company, the move to a cloud-based phone service that offers all communication forms is going to save over $500,000 per year.
  • The move to the cloud saved us from having to replace soon to be end-of-life hardware and re-allocate the human resources that were managing the hardware. This is additional savings to the $500,000 mentioned above.
  • The move also allowed us to cancel our GoToMeeting contract and leverage Google and 8x8 Meeting Services.
