Ceridian Dayforce is flexible software; if your application support team is creative and compliant minded, Ceridian Dayforce will work for all industries. You get what pay for... hire Ceridian consultants for your implementation. I have experienced (24 years in HR) too many problems with software implementations using third-party consultants. Also, demand the 'A' team for your projects. It will cost you, but it is money well spent. The general application support is good but needs improvement with customer engagement related to, EDI file, Tax Services, and Garnishment support. They are slow to respond, have 'canned' responses, and generally take a long time to resolve issues.

They have a large library - make sure you clearly study the library offerings and choose the courses that are best for you as you will never be able to use all of them. Make sure you survey your user base before purchasing the licensing of the library courses so the courses are 'marked' with an employee in mind to keep costs minimized. Only purchase the Books 24x7 if you have a large IT department - otherwise you might want to lease a smaller content portion. Their Leadership Development, Project Management, business series and critical thinking and technical products are exceptional.

Ceridian Dayforce Education has been very helpful in understanding many processes which become sometimes difficult to understand/follow. ILT courses do provide good insights. Read full review Covers a wide-breadth of topics ranging from desktop / office skills to communications skills to leadership development Offers knowledge portals (Knowledge Centers) around specific topic areas such as Management Development, Six Sigma, Professional Foundations, Sales, etc - that aggregate content from the large Skillsoft resources and present it in a way that is both meaningful and relevant to the learners. Plus, they have editors update the featured topic each month. Include a wide variety of learning media such as eLearning courses, books, book summaries and videos. Read full review Cons Customer Support. They are great at innovation, but it can be frustrating trying to get support for features because they're always at high ticket volume. They have different support tiers based on your organization's size, so if you're a smaller customer, it is hard to get consistent support. Functionalities are not always consistent across modules. Some areas of Ceridian Dayforce have audit capabilities to track data changes, but some don't, and it's hit or miss which features have them. Read full review The platform does have room to improve their response time for assistance. Depending on the issue an internal "help team may be required" They removed what was called "knowledge centers" which could be summed up as an accumulation of books, courses, exams, practice exams, articles and basically any asset within the platform surrounded by a particular subject. This was a great benefit to some of our customer. It was a one-stop-shop but now you would need to search independently for all of those assets. Because the platforms library can be customized its a bit of a struggle to have certain assets changed or modified within Skillsoft. You basically are on their time when it comes to updates or any major changes you as a customer would like to make. Read full review Likelihood to Renew

I would recommend to renew as this is part of our employee development goals and we make a strong commitment to develop employees' people skills. I think SkillSoft has a very innovative approach to develop people's interpersonal skills other than traditional classroom learning.

I think it's very usable for the employee. I don't think it is as easy for the HR/PR admins - especially if there is an issue. There are so many setup screens that need to be looked at to try to figure out why payroll isn't calculating properly, hours aren't feeding over correctly, or benefits are not calculating properly. For the most part, they can't do their own troubleshooting. The same is true for the managers. Our managers find it cumbersome to go into make any schedule changes after the schedules have been generated.

The integration between the main Skillsoft portal and Books24x7 could use improvement. Most users don't realize there is actually a separate books portal because the link to it is not that visible. Yet, once they discover it, they realize that the books portal is actually easier to use to search for books, ebook summaries, and videos.

We have never experienced a total/unplanned outages that effected our ability to process payroll. However, there are times when the application's speed is significantly effected - and processing a payroll may take up to twice as long as normal.

We haven't noticed any slow-down due to the integration of Dayforce WFM with our Ceridian HPL products (HRIS and Payroll). The new HTML view of the timesheets don't load as quickly as the old Silverlight view - however, we have gotten used to the change.

Since the support team has split into modules, it has seemed to go downhill. I have a ticket that has been open for over 2 months, and I barely get communication on it if I'm not checking in on it. When I do, I haven't got any progress or updates. There are times that the support team is very quick - this must be to known issues that are easy to solve. I just feel as if the team needs more work.

Very responsive, knowledge and helpful. They are always focused on ensuring they are doing the very best to support our success.

Because the training we reviewed at Insights has changed how we use the system everyday. This is a key factor in our training.

The online training has been really good, I can do some online sessions/courses on my own time which is great for time management. The on line class type sessions have been really good too, they provide a great overview with some additional features or where and how to look to make some changes.

Have a strong internal team. Communicate with your implementation team - they are there to make it work for you. Take the time to really think about how you want the system to work for you - in some cases, you may need to rethink your own business practices to see if you are working harder when the system could do it for you

Just that it takes a village. It cannot be done alone. Everyone needs to know what you are doing and what their role is in the implementation. Tightly managing the project management schedule and resources is important in ensuring that everything gets done on time, and with quality. Education is KEY

Through Ceridian Dayforce, the organization has brought together payroll, time management, and benefits into a single application. Previously these were done in separate systems. Having them together has enabled better employee self service and manager self service than the organization has had in the past. It has also reduced reliance on paper forms and have streamlined approvals, which can now be done electronically.

We chose SkillSoft for the overall ease of use for both our users and our administrators and have a great value proposition. We have continued our contracts for the same reasons and the relationship we have built with our Learning Consultant and Account Representative.
Overall, we are extremely happy with the Dayforce WFM module. Our biggest pain point is concerning the twice annual software upgrades - which is the only reason I haven't rated them as a '10'. Because every customer is configured differently, the upgrades can sometimes have adverse effects on our current configured policies/rules. And although they roll-out the upgraded version in a test environment several weeks before go-live, not all testing is accurate in that environment. Some issues do not present themselves until you are working with live punches.
Read full review Return on Investment Once we are 100% up and running we anticipate a lot of efficiencies in the HR department but hard to quantify at this point. Giving employees the ability to update addresses and direct deposit will result in less errors on the HR department. Org charts will help everyone see where they fit into the organization and cut the learning curve for new hires trying to learn who is who and where they fit in. Read full review The ability to have on-demand training saves money in not having to have an in-house trainer. Employees can complete training on their own time (even at home), so if they need more time for a training, they can complete it on their own time. Read full review
