Great for a low-budget option/smaller businesses who need softphone capabilities and basic salesforce integration. Less appropriate for larger businesses who need more robust call reporting among agents, more options for dial plans or call routing, and more features. If crystal clear call quality is a high priority, GoTo Connect may not be right for those situations either.

Zoom Phone

Zoom Phone is great for remote work. It's pretty user friendly. You can easily transfer calls to those who have Zoom extensions programmed into the address book.Obviously, this would apply to most tech nowadays, but call quality can suffer during bad weather.

GoTo Connect

  • Secure communications - all the communication data is handled and stored in the global privacy-compliant servers and methodologies.
  • Eliminates the need to have hardware VoIP phones - VoIP calls can be made directly from the desktop, mobile, and other PDA devices.
  • Unlimited call queues - a great feature for our support team handling huge traffic of requests and tickets on a daily basis.

  • It is an application that is unified to make calls and video calls and allows you to make changes from one to the other without having to redial or hang up.
  • It has great international coverage, that is, it allows optimizing global and international contact.

  • Not as modern as some other platforms available - This could be seen as a pro or a con, but having additional options like color scheme, statuses, and profile picture options make the user experience more personalized and fun.
  • Lack of integration - Being able to link more than just your personal email to GoToConnect would be handy, such as time-tracking or your calendar.
  • Uncertain if meetings are private - Anyone with a link can join a meeting, therefore I question how easy it is for someone outside of the company to join a meeting that was not meant for them. Maybe a password option would add a buffer of security.

Zoom Phone

  • Voicemail handling for queues and groups can't have their own shared voicemail box.
  • They recently starting limiting how many greetings you can have per user, so you have to do some annoying workarounds by setting up additional users to accomplish it when you have a number of ACD.
  • Does not yet support texting.
  • I wish they had built in text to speech to quickly build new greetings or phone tree options when needed.
  • You can't just assign a phone number to a call queue or group. You have to use a specific user. Fortunately, the cost is reasonable per user so its not a big problem, but annoying none-the-less.
  • The Salesforce integration could be better, I hope they improve it. For example, voicemails and call logs don't show up in the native lightning case feed, but as tasks.
  • When callers call, I wish it would pop up how they called and what tree they went through. So we could see what number they called into and perhaps what menu options they used.
  • I'd love to be able to ask them questions to gather info for reps answering phones when appropriate.

I don't think we would ever consider using something different. We are committed to the excellent service, fair prices, and quality product that GoToConnect offers us. [...] The overall usability is different depending on the medium in which the user is utilizing for the call. On a stable connection in front of a laptop or desktop, it is a top-notch system. When the user tries to go mobile, he or she can really start to experience defects in the usability and overall experience.

Zoom Phone has a very sleek design which makes it very easy to operate and use both in the setting up of and interacting in a meeting space. That being said, certain features can seem a bit crowded while trying to screen share or display video which somewhat defeats the purpose of the application as compared to a standard conference call.

The support offered by GoToConnect is exceptional. Every agent I have spoken with has been extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I can say, I never ended a call frustrated or hung up because of a language barrier or an inability of the agent to resolve the issue at hand with one phone call. I absolutely love the fact that they not only stay on the phone with you to resolve an issue (no matter how long it takes), they follow up via email to make sure the issue was fully resolved. I can say that you all definitely have RingCentral beat from a customer service standpoint.

I haven't had any sort of issues with Zoom as of yet to have to call Support. That right there makes me think it's a good product. Simple and easy to use. Nothing confusing or glitchy that would make me have to get in touch with them. Straightforward so I'm not trying to figure out a specific workflow.

We changed from a landline (horrible and expensive) to Verizon One Talk (WORLD'S WORST PRODUCT) to Vonage (GIANT DISASTER) to GoToConnect. GoToConnect not only met all of our needs but exceeded our expectations with the services we receive. We could not have had a better process for set up; it actually worked like it was supposed to and gave us more than what we needed!

I have used large scale call center software. When I came into this company, I went back to my old phone vendor to see about putting that system into the firm. It was neither cost effective or practical. I quickly came up to speed with GoToConnect and became a true believer.

Zoom Phone

The big draw for us to Zoom Phone is that they shook up the market. They entered the phone market by taking their overwhelming success in video conferencing, and bringing that innovation and skill to designing a game changing phone system. There is really not much difference among the other systems, except maybe their interface. They're a dime a dozen. Zoom does things differently, focusing in on the needs of the end users, and delivers a solid system that is worry free for I.T. departments

  • We are easily able to expand coverage to a new branch, and set up new connections very smoothly.
  • We are much more efficient through layering the phone groups that ring for incoming calls based on time unanswered.
  • As the system administrator, I have had a very low number of issues that I wasn't able to resolve on my own.

  • The voicemail transcription feature helps with sharing messages to different departments.
  • Overall, we're able to answer more calls and have fewer callers being sent to voicemail.
