It has simplified T&E submission for the users and organized the submission for the reviewers. Questions that come up during review by managers are easily resolved with emails within Certify. Certify has the ability to require certain information in regards to an expense, where the expense cannot be submitted without the required detail.,Certify has the tools to calculate mileage reimbursement from one location to another. The calculation is based on the amount that you want to reimburse per mile. Using this tool within Certify is much easier and quicker than having to go on a "MapQuest" type website to come up with this information. A variety of reports are available in Certify to help track expenses by department, individuals or type of expense. Customized reports can also be added to Certify to provide data on "not so ordinary" expenditures. I am not a user on Certify, only an administrator, but I have been told by many users how easy it is to use Certify. It was very much welcomed by our users when we started using Certify about 5 years ago.,When approving an expense, a manager has to approve it and submit it and a few times the manager approved it and never submitted it, thinking it was done. We use the delegation tool that allows a manager to have another individual go into Certify and review and approve expenses for him. I find this feature a little difficult to find for setting this up and for the user to find. I have had to look it up in the support section of Certify. On the screen when setting up a new user, a manager is set up to approve and there are two other fields that approvers can be added, a second approver and AP rep. When the second approver box is not populated, the expense keeps going back to the first approver. I have to put the AP Rep in as 2nd approver and AP approval.,10,The organization and automatic flow of the expense report to approvers and then AP saves time for all. The user has agreed that it is easier and quicker to prepare the expense report and the managers and AP department finds the automated process to be quicker and more efficient. Time saved is money saved. Certify can recognize if a duplicate expense is submitted or if an expense is submitted too late to be reimbursed according to our policies. This prevents us from reimbursing an expense in error. We use a customized report to track a specific type of expense that gets submitted by our sales team. There is a limit on what can be spent on specific expenses that fall into an entertainment category and the report helps us to stay within the limits. Previously, without this tool, we had spent so much more time manually tracking these expenses and had gone over the limits, creating a deficiency in our processes.,The support team at Certify is amazing! Probably the most important part of the transition from manual to automated expense reporting. I always get a friendly, knowledgeable person to help me. Never a wait when trying to contact customer service. I've called multiple times for the same problem and never felt like I was being bothersome. We successfully use Certify for both, its intended purpose of expense report reconciliation, as well as to better control the flow of cash and payments to and from our subsidiaries. We recently also began to test using Certify for pre-authorizing quotes and job estimates.,Organization & ease of view. Easy, user-friendly interface. Good customer service.,The option to have the edit screen already open as you move from one transaction line to the next. More customization options (at least to the administrator). We've been using the software for 5 years now and so far I am happy to say that overall we have had a very pleasant and successful partnership. It simplifies the entire process from entering expenses with receipts to the manager approval level in an easy to use mobile app or desktop. Accounting is able to simply download transactions into the accounting software rather than manually entering. Reports are easy to use.,Easily upload pictures of receipts and upload into employee wallet. Mileage is easily tracked for employees using a map and automatically calculates rate so that the employee doesn't have to calculate and eases errors. Multiple reports are readily available for manager review.,Sometimes when downloading into accounting software the classes are input incorrectly. I'm not sure that this is a Certify problem or an accounting software issue.,10,Saves time for employees and management. Fewer errors from manual entry.,The customer support time is extremely knowledgeable, I never have to wait long periods to speak to someone. Once the CSR is given an issue or problem it is always solved in a timely manner so I'm not on the phone for long periods of time. It helps to have all the receipts in 1 area, and we can mark it with a code if receipts are missing.,Certify is linked with our specific business credit card The support team responds very quickly to answer any questions, etc Certify is very user-friendly,We have asked Certify for improvements through the years and they have responded very well. At this time I do not see an area for improvement.,10,It does save a lot of time from creating individual expense reports -- it is linked to phones so one may a picture of a receipt right when they get it, so it is saved and not lost. It has an area to list who was entertained, who was treated a lunch, etc. It generates reports for our accounting dept, by each individual and totals up the codes, etc.,We really like using Certify! We started out with another company and quickly switched due to the customer support team! They always respond within a reasonable amount of time, and always wanting to assist or walk us through something. We have attended 1 of their seminars when in the local area; in fact we were one of the main users and were able to help answer questions from other folks. It addresses three main issues for us: 1. We have had an initiative to go paperless payment processing as much as possible and Certify has helped us do that. We no longer deal with paper expense reports and individual paper receipts. 2. Internal control. We are able to delegate responsibility for approvals via the approval workflow features. Finance is also able to check in and monitor progress as well as comment on receipts and control coding choices available to the users.3. It also streamlined our monthly close process. Once it was adopted by all of our users, the time it takes to process for both the users and the accounting department is much lower and it is a more efficient process for everyone. With Certify the process of getting the expenses into our accounting program is quick and easy. The "flags" within Certify for expenses that do not meet our requirements are easy to spot and correct.,Once an expense report has been approved it would be helpful if someone in our company had the ability to "un-approve" it if an error is noted and needs to be corrected. The payout to the employee is quick and mostly hands off. This system has saved me hours of time because it is so easy to use.,When syncing to QuickBooks, enough information isn't transferred over. My employees tell me the system doesn't always read the receipts correctly and the information needs to be redone. It allows staff to submit expense reimbursements in a variety of currencies and to have the ease of taking immediate photos of receipts and submitting them. This eliminates the need for sitting down at the end of the month and trying to collect all receipts, then remembering what they were used for.,Uses the companies own category list: this way it is tailored for our own use. Stores receipts so that you don't have to keep up with them in a wallet or folder any longer. Organizes the expenses in a simple way based on multiple factors. Provides reminders.,The functionality works great, but occasionally there will be challenged with the app. One problem encountered is taking a photo of a receipt and being taken back to the log -in screen.,9,Using Certify reduces the time an employee spends on organizing and submitting expense reports, allowing them to focus on more pressing issues. Certify alerts when there are recurrences of the same expense preventing problems when audits are conducted. Certify allows multiple, customizable checks to be conducted by the organization for accuracy. It also allows queries to go straight between the person checking the report and the one who submitted it until the issue is resolved.,,Microsoft Office 2016, Adobe Acrobat DCCertify has simplified the business expenses and reimbursement processes in my day to day life!Certify is being used across the entire company here for more than a year now. It has dramatically made our lives better when it comes to billable time and expense reporting especially. It's super easy to manage receipts and submit expense reports. The reimbursement process has improved 110%. It's more efficient, faster, easier to use. We all love it... especially compared to emailing Excel spreadsheets to track expenses and request reimbursements like we did several years ago.,Certify allows me to automatically generate expense reports for repetitive items. Certify completely streamlines the entire approval process. Certify allows me to get reimbursed much faster than ever before. All my reimbursements are automatically directly deposited into my checking account within a matter of days versus weeks. Certify makes keeping, sorting, and tracking receipts a breeze. It couldn't be better! you can upload, email, use an app, etc. It's fantastic in the office or on the go. The Website and App interfaces are very user-friendly. Certify allow me to import/upload receipts on the fly so that I never miss out or forget about an expensive or the specific amount. It also provides me a way to look back in time and compare as well. Certify allows our organization's users in certify to rate and compare hotels they stay at an expense, restaurants, car rentals, and many other types of purchases. So we can literally see what other colleagues thought about it and how they rated their experience. This is something I have never had anywhere else before, without hours of Googling of course.,Certify could also include some automated spending control. Certify could also implement some type of time tracking within it as well. Certify could have something that is specific to accounting for projects. Anything that could be added to help better and assist its users with tax management.,10,I only have positives for this with Certify because if I have a business expense, I can quickly get my receipt imported into certified and expensed for reimbursement. You do not have to be someone that even goes on business trips to make use of Certify and reap its benefits. As an end-user of Certify, I do not miss out or take any losses on any business related expenses. I can use it as I go, anywhere, for anything related to expenses. I do not work in HR or Payroll for example. But, I can say that anything I spend for company purposes, Certify gets my money back in my pocket that much faster. Your money is your money, so the quicker you can expense it and get it back the happier you're going to be. Certify accomplishes this for me; so I have no negative or bad business objectives or impacts caused by Certify... I didn’t realize that I had to arrow down to an item to continue to edit,10,I am a user in the field so I can’t speak to the ROI.,It is so user-friendly that I have not had to use any customer support services.,10,ProcoreCertify makes expense reporting easy peasy lemon squeezy!We use Certify throughout our organization (we used Excel spreadsheets prior to Certify). Formula's would get changed or simply deleted which would cause various errors. Additionally, we would never have the detail of the individual expenses in our accounting software. Certify was a great addition. We now have detail flowing through to Sage 100 and I can run various analytics in Certify to see our level of spend.,Customer service/support: They have an incredible team. We are fans of the chat option and 99.9% of the time our issues are solved within a 5-minute window. Listening to customers: they are always looking for ways to improve their product. They have free conferences sprinkled around various cities. They are worth trending. They provide "what's new in Certify" as well as round-table discussions specifically addressing how their customers are using the product and what they have learned along the way. Keeping their product up to date: Certify takes back various suggestions from the conference to enhance their product. I have been at every conference they have had and have actually seen customer suggestions get implemented into the program.,Reporting: I would like to see more chart availability from the program. We include various data points from Certify in our monthly financial statement package. Currently, we export data from the program and create our own pivot tables to create charts. Dashboard feature: It would be nice to be able to use the data for a specific date and then be able to print that information. Can't think of another one. As stated before, they listen to their customers so prior issues have been addressed and implemented.,10,More reliable expense reports: Prior to this Excel spreadsheet would come into the accounting department broken. We would have to correct the formula's, mileage, etc. which would take considerable time to identify and make the necessary corrections. Money saved: Certify has a "duplicate expense" notification that pops up on the employee's expense report. I have caught a number of duplicate items that have been submitted and have corrected them which ultimately saves the company money. Ability to look at prior reports to check it if a receipt has been submitted before. I have used this a number of times when an employee is submitting a receipt that is out of the 30-day window. Most of the time they are submitting it late because they simply forgot to include it in a prior report. But I have caught a number of receipts that were submitted on prior reports. If we were under the Excel method, I would have never caught those errors.,Their customer service— hands down—is awesome. They are quick to respond and for the most part have the answer to a problem within a 5 minute window, I have had several chat discussions to help me with questions, a few of them needed to be escalated -but for the most part they were able to help me through my issue and find a resolve.,10,Expensify,Sage 100 ERP, Bullhorn CRM, LinkedIn Lead AcceleratorCertify helps streamlined expense reporting and reimbursementOur outside salespeople use Certify to submit monthly expense reports for reimbursement. We have about 25 persons using Certify. They typically incur mileage, travel expenses, and some entertaining expenses. Prior to using Certify, we were using paper reports and attaching original receipts to each monthly reimbursement submission. Keeping up with all that paper was cumbersome.,Direct deposit reimbursements are very fast. Our users get their funds very quickly. Reporting capabilities within Certify are excellent. Many reports are available and can be created in Excel format for further manipulation when necessary. Support, when needed, has been very good. The knowledgebase is helpful and phone support is available and responsive.,The ability to add a receipt after a report has been submitted would be helpful. This would simplify processing as opposed to disapproving the report and sending it back to the user for correction and re-submission. Though not a fault of Certify, our users drive multiple destinations every day, rather than occasional trips from city A to city B. Therefore, capturing mileage is a time-consuming process for our users.,9,There has been time saved by me as an administrator in using Certify versus approving manual paper submissions and cutting paper checks. Our users receive their funds more quickly. We are able to generate reports simply and more quickly.,Certify was a pleasure to work with during the onboarding process. They were very helpful and thorough. The knowledge base is good and helpful, as are the training videos. In the few time that our users have had to contact Certify for support, we have been satisfied with the quick solutions provided.,9,Certifiably Usable CertifyCertify is used in our organization to help manage travel expenses by employees and purchases made by the company purchasing card. It is used by the Sales Department mainly because of travel, but other departments use Certify when they purchase items with the company card. This helps keep track of every expense every employee makes and makes sure they are all accounted for.,Certify helps organize all business transactions made from employees. Certify helps keep a paper trail of every expense made on a company card. Certify is easy to organize all expenses made for a user. Certify helps employees keep track of all their spending.,The merge feature for transactions and receipts doesn't always capture the right amount which can cause confusion. The problems that occur on Certify should be easier to solve instead of emailing for help. It is hard to search for a specific problem sometimes.,9,A lot of time saved for making expense reports Less errors in the system because of manual data entry Big expense reports take less time to do with Certify as an option,I have benefited quite a bit from the Certify customer support team. They always want to make sure you get your questions answered in the most efficient and effective way possible. The onboarding support is very helpful because they give multiple options of what can fix the problem. They try their best to make sure that everything is running smooth after an error occurs.,7,,Microsoft 365 BusinessCertify: you get what you pay for!Certify is used across the entire organization for employee monthly expenses.,Clean intuitive interface Provides a mobile app for receipt scanning Provides history of all expense report activity,The website tends to be very, very slow when uploading or saving information OCR engine through App for scanning receipts is awful, to the point of being useless Mileage calculations through Mapquest tend to be inaccurate most of the time,7,Overall a good solution for an organization. It saves a lot of time compared to other methods of expense tracking. Automated integration with AMEX makes reconciling those expenses easy and timely. Intuitive interface means there was not much of a learning curve. Better and more available video training by Certify would be helpful to learn the best way to use the platform and save even more time.,Training provided by Certify is lackluster. Customer support is also a bit slow to respond, but I have only had to use it a couple of times for very minor types of things.,6,Concur Expense, Concur Travel and Expense, Expensify and Zoho Subscriptions,Ceridian Dayforce, Microsoft Office 365, Salesforce.comWe love Certify!Certify is used as our expense reporting software for reimbursable and non-reimbursable expenses. It is being used across the whole organization. It avoids us having to use paper receipts and allows managers and the finance department to monitor spending.,Mobile capture of receipts. Create and approve expense reports on the mobile app. Reimbursable expenses are easy to process.,Sometimes the software that reads the receipt info is not accurate. Close, but never 100%. Admins should not have to take so many steps to access users' accounts. Too many e-mails along the way for expense report approval.,10,Time saved on creating expense reports thanks to Report Executive feature which creates expense reports automatically with items in virtual wallet. Reporting allows accountant to see outstanding items for specific periods. Reporting allows the department to see spending trends and identify high volume users or big spending categories.,They are available via phone and chat. They always provide a solution and if they cannot find the answer right away they research and get back to you. Free training resources are provided for new users so we do not have to worry about training.,10,Concur Expense,QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks ProCertify - a solution for expensesIEC uses Certify daily for tracking credit card and reimbursable expenses. We have approximately 7 offices and perform work all across the united states.,Centralized location for tracking expenses. Makes job costing for expenses a smooth transaction. Allows employees to get their reimbursements in an efficient time frame.,There needs to be a way to delete the previously downloaded transactions that were not used due to a discrepancy. When inactivating projects a multi-delete function would be more convenient. Allow for coding multiple projects per single transaction.,10,Certify allows our company to process all expenses within about a weeks time as opposed to 2-3 weeks in manual format. Allowing the sync with QuickBooks is very convenient and accurate. Other than the recommendations from previously stated Certify is a cost and time effective tool.,I have not had to interact with the support team to date.,10,,Procore, QuickBooks Enterprise SolutionsCertify - excellent time-saving tool!It is being used across the organization. Anyone who has a company credit card uses it, and almost all of the salespeople as well. Accounting oversees it. It helps us to keep all of our credit card receipts easily accessible and reduces paper waste. It makes it much easier to look up previous charges.,The app is easy to use and is very convenient. The ability of account managers to go into other employees' accounts makes it easy to help them. The wide range of reporting features makes it easy to look up old information and create Excel sheets with meaningful data.,Manually entering data to an expense report is not very user-friendly. I do not like that I have to fill in the category before I can fill in the rest of the data. Sometimes I need to fill it all in and then think about which category would be best. Linking cards to the wallet - we had quite a struggle trying to keep some of our cards linked and they would mysteriously unlink which made for a time-consuming fix involving upper management. SpendSmart - I don't think this area is useful at all to our company. As an account manager, I wish there was an easier way for me to edit each expense in reports. There are times I need to go into every single line item. to change or add detail, and it would be nice if I could edit them on one screen.,8,Fewer errors from manual data entry. The onboard support was excellent.,8,User FriendlyCurrently our organization uses Certify across the whole organization. We use it for expense reports as well as booking our company travel.,Able to create custom reports designed for your organization to provide you with the information you need. Always has customer service available; whenever an issue might occur they are able to handle it immediately. Extremely user-friendly and does not need WiFi connection at all times.,Allowing for receipts to be uploaded after an employee submits a report. Allowing easier cancellation/changes when it comes to travel on the user end instead of having to call for easy change. Allow for reports to be ran using more specific field searches.,9,Time has been saved when completing expense reports. Employees are able to create them immediately and get them approved quickly. Reimbursement is able to be direct deposited so no more checks need to be cut. Entering the expenses into the accounting department is just an export that goes right into Excel and can be uploaded instead of manual entry.,The customer support team is always ready to help with any questions. If your representative is unable to answer your question a case is opened and you receive contact immediately to help resolve your issue.,9,Concur Expensegreat valueWe use Certify for all expense reporting in our engineering department, for field marketing employees, administration, and all upper management. We have a lot of travel within our company, and Certify is a great way to track travel expenses and needs for our employees. We have not utilized the travel portion of the software.,The quick and easy recording of receipts, by clicking a couple of buttons and saving the information, is so efficient. No worrying about keeping track of or losing receipts. The reports to pull for following processing expenses are a great help for research purposes. Ease of entering and completing expenses, whether via cell phone or computer.,Split Expense function -- I wish it worked better on the mobile app. It is easy to go through the function on the computer, not so much on the mobile app. Most of our employees use the mobile app, so that results in a lot of clean up on my part when processing.,8,The amount of time spent processing has been cut significantly! The ease of processing online and being able to compare receipts with the expense submitted is great! We have saved a lot of trees with this app.,The support team are also prompt and very helpful! Response time is minimal and always very helpful.,8,Simple Expense ReportingCertify is used by the entire organization, but the bulk of its use is in sales. We use it for expenses. It is extremely simple to use, very intuitive, and has a clean and modern feel to it. Many times we take clients out or use it as a way to thank others for internal trainings. It also helps the company get to know each other as a whole without bothering executives for a credit card. I pick up bagels every Friday for the team and because it's an approved expense I don't have to ping an executive for a card or cash to pay for something. I would highly recommend Certify to any organization looking to streamline reimbursement processing.,Adding receipts or documentation of purchase(s) is simple with the three upload options that Certify offers. The user can choose to upload from a mobile device via the Certify app, upload via computer or by emailing it to a unique email account that is designated for the individual employee through Certify. The status of expense reports makes it easy to check at-a-glance to see the current status - "Draft, Pending Approval, Pending Payment or Archived". Receipt integration from popular travel services and vendors makes calculating expenses even easier.,I'd like to see more options for receipt integration from places where the purchase was made with Apple pay, and the merchant sent a text message receipt of payment. "Create a New Expense Report" page is very basic, possibly creating differentiation with bold character and font size difference would help the user with a faster response to the next step in navigation. The website could use a refresh to make navigating more user-friendly.,9,I think it has made the expense processing time shorter It has made our organization more efficient. It has improved communication within the organization regarding expenses and approval from managers. Certify definitely helps my company reimburse individuals for business expenses in a fast and easy platform to use. I would definitely recommend it to my friends and family if they don't already use it at their company.,Certify has multiple ways of submitting your information such as receipts and mileage incurred. I prefer using the app on my phone while I travel. It's convenient and I don't have to worry about keeping all of my receipts safe which may be difficult when you travel. Certify can be configured for my company's needs such as the list of eligible expenses an individual can submit. When submitting your reports, they go directly to your supervisor. You don't have to worry about an extensive process of getting your expenses approved.,It would be nice if the app used touch/fingerprint login for ease of use.,10,I'm not sure about this. At Enzo, we use Certify for many departments at our location and at our European locations. It has simplified T&E submission for the users and organized the submission for the reviewers. Questions that come up during review by managers are easily resolved with emails within Certify. Certify has the ability to require certain information in regards to an expense, where the expense cannot be submitted without the required detail.
  • Certify has the tools to calculate mileage reimbursement from one location to another. The calculation is based on the amount that you want to reimburse per mile. Using this tool within Certify is much easier and quicker than having to go on a "MapQuest" type website to come up with this information.
  • A variety of reports are available in Certify to help track expenses by department, individuals or type of expense. Customized reports can also be added to Certify to provide data on "not so ordinary" expenditures.
  • I am not a user on Certify, only an administrator, but I have been told by many users how easy it is to use Certify. It was very much welcomed by our users when we started using Certify about 5 years ago.
  • When approving an expense, a manager has to approve it and submit it and a few times the manager approved it and never submitted it, thinking it was done.
  • We use the delegation tool that allows a manager to have another individual go into Certify and review and approve expenses for him. I find this feature a little difficult to find for setting this up and for the user to find. I have had to look it up in the support section of Certify.
  • On the screen when setting up a new user, a manager is set up to approve and there are two other fields that approvers can be added, a second approver and AP rep. When the second approver box is not populated, the expense keeps going back to the first approver. I have to put the AP Rep in as 2nd approver and AP approval.
Certify is well suited for adding many departments and different expense categories within each department. I have also used the foreign currency tool that seems to work well (no complaints from users). I very much like the mileage calculation tool. At Enzo, we have not yet used the tool to allow for upload to the GL, for which I am looking forward to adding at some time. I am happy with the availability of reports and the option to add customized reports. One of the problems encountered is when a 2nd approver is not added to an employee's set up and the expense report does not seem to circulate properly unless I add a 2nd approver.

It is used as needed across the entire organization and its affiliates. We successfully use Certify for both, its intended purpose of expense report reconciliation, as well as to better control the flow of cash and payments to and from our subsidiaries. We recently also began to test using Certify for pre-authorizing quotes and job estimates.
  • Organization & ease of view.
  • Easy, user-friendly interface.
  • Good customer service.
  • The option to have the edit screen already open as you move from one transaction line to the next.
  • More customization options (at least to the administrator).
  • More comprehensive reporting.
The flexibility of using mobile and desktop platforms, as well as the ability to upload receipts and invoices from different sources in a variety of methods. So far, it has been suitable for us for its intended purpose, as well as an alternative method of inter-company control. So far I can't think of a thing that the system hasn't been suited for, except the cost-benefit of the add on services of invoices and travel not making financial sense to us.

  • Very easy to use.
  • Pulls credit card charges in.
  • Very good mobile device.
  • Nice interface with Spectrum.
  • Setting up the credit card interface took some time, but support eventually got it working.
Very well suited if you want to charge to a job/project because you can add fields to work with your accounting system.

We track employee expenses and mileage. It simplifies the entire process from entering expenses with receipts to the manager approval level in an easy to use mobile app or desktop. Accounting is able to simply download transactions into the accounting software rather than manually entering. Reports are easy to use.
  • Easily upload pictures of receipts and upload into employee wallet.
  • Mileage is easily tracked for employees using a map and automatically calculates rate so that the employee doesn't have to calculate and eases errors.
  • Multiple reports are readily available for manager review.
  • Sometimes when downloading into accounting software the classes are input incorrectly. I'm not sure that this is a Certify problem or an accounting software issue.
Certify is well suited for companies with an outside sales force; eliminates the need for paper expense reports.

It is being used by our senior and branch managers; we have 11 branches, to track expenses and all receipts. It helps to have all the receipts in 1 area, and we can mark it with a code if receipts are missing.
  • Certify is linked with our specific business credit card
  • The support team responds very quickly to answer any questions, etc

  • We have asked Certify for improvements through the years and they have responded very well. At this time I do not see an area for improvement.
Linking to our credit card is very helpful to match up receipts with charges, along with making sure the right receipt is attached. We have a list of account codes that our employees can choose from to match their budget expenses. It is very easy to add or subtract codes, etc. Each monthly Certify report must balance with the credit card statement.

We use it as our expense report solution for company issued credit cards. It addresses three main issues for us: 1. We have had an initiative to go paperless payment processing as much as possible and Certify has helped us do that. We no longer deal with paper expense reports and individual paper receipts. 2. Internal control. We are able to delegate responsibility for approvals via the approval workflow features. Finance is also able to check in and monitor progress as well as comment on receipts and control coding choices available to the users.3. It also streamlined our monthly close process. Once it was adopted by all of our users, the time it takes to process for both the users and the accounting department is much lower and it is a more efficient process for everyone. It removed a significant barrier to accounting commencing with month end close.

  • I would like to see an administrator dash board with easy identification of where the users are in the report preparation process. Perhaps there is a report for this.

All departments use Certify. The employees that have company credit cards are required to submit weekly expense reports. Certify makes it easy to review the expenses and corresponding receipts, and then sync to QuickBooks.
  • We have a constant need to keep track of job costing for our various projects. With Certify the process of getting the expenses into our accounting program is quick and easy. The "flags" within Certify for expenses that do not meet our requirements are easy to spot and correct.
  • Once an expense report has been approved it would be helpful if someone in our company had the ability to "un-approve" it if an error is noted and needs to be corrected. At this time a call to Certify is required to un-approve the report.
For us, with 15 - 20 users that need to submit expense reports it works great. It might be a little bit of "too much" for a company with just one or two employees. However, they should definitely consider it as their company grows.

  • Ease of using the software.
  • Ability to upload receipts using a cell phone.

  • Limiting a dollar amount for specific categories. When an expense can only be charged to that category if it exceeds a set limit.
When you have employees who work in other cities and states, Certify is a great way to have expense reports submitted for approval and processing. The ease of taking a photo of a receipt is very helpful with missing receipts.

  • Being able to read, and insert receipt information is helpful.
  • The payout to the employee is quick and mostly hands off.
  • This system has saved me hours of time because it is so easy to use.
  • When syncing to QuickBooks, enough information isn't transferred over.
  • My employees tell me the system doesn't always read the receipts correctly and the information needs to be redone.
  • Employees have told me the credit card upload doesn't work as cleanly as they had expected.
This system has changed the way accounting does expense reports, from manual to electronic, and it has saved hours of time. Because we were manual, some employees are having issues with having to put in so much manual information.

Certify is currently being used for our international department. It allows staff to submit expense reimbursements in a variety of currencies and to have the ease of taking immediate photos of receipts and submitting them. This eliminates the need for sitting down at the end of the month and trying to collect all receipts, then remembering what they were used for.
  • Uses the companies own category list: this way it is tailored for our own use.
  • Stores receipts so that you don't have to keep up with them in a wallet or folder any longer.
  • Organizes the expenses in a simple way based on multiple factors.
  • Provides reminders.
  • The functionality works great, but occasionally there will be challenged with the app. One problem encountered is taking a photo of a receipt and being taken back to the log -in screen.
Certify is definitely suited for any company or organization that keeps track of expenses for reimbursement purposes. It includes the ability to track mileage for travel simply by the input of the various destinations involved.

Certify is being used across the entire company here for more than a year now. It has dramatically made our lives better when it comes to billable time and expense reporting especially. It's super easy to manage receipts and submit expense reports. The reimbursement process has improved 110%. It's more efficient, faster, easier to use. We all love it... especially compared to emailing Excel spreadsheets to track expenses and request reimbursements like we did several years ago.
  • Certify allows me to automatically generate expense reports for repetitive items.
  • Certify completely streamlines the entire approval process.
  • Certify allows me to get reimbursed much faster than ever before.
  • All my reimbursements are automatically directly deposited into my checking account within a matter of days versus weeks.
  • Certify makes keeping, sorting, and tracking receipts a breeze. It couldn't be better! you can upload, email, use an app, etc. It's fantastic in the office or on the go.
  • The Website and App interfaces are very user-friendly.
  • Certify allow me to import/upload receipts on the fly so that I never miss out or forget about an expensive or the specific amount. It also provides me a way to look back in time and compare as well.
  • Certify allows our organization's users in certify to rate and compare hotels they stay at an expense, restaurants, car rentals, and many other types of purchases. So we can literally see what other colleagues thought about it and how they rated their experience. This is something I have never had anywhere else before, without hours of Googling of course.
  • Certify could also include some automated spending control.
  • Certify could also implement some type of time tracking within it as well.
  • Certify could have something that is specific to accounting for projects.
  • Anything that could be added to help better and assist its users with tax management.
When I travel I can use a mobile app on the go and never miss a step. I never miss something I should get reimbursed for. The entire process saves me time. I can easily review history. I can quickly get reimbursed on large expenses while in the office or out of the office. I have not found a single scenario with the company I work for where Certify has not been the best thing to happen to me in terms of getting receipts imported, expense reports generated, and getting my money back as quickly as possible!

  • Take a photo of the receipt and it is automatically saved
  • Because of the upload, paper receipts no longer need to be saved
  • It syncs really well into the monthly expense report so when it’s time to reconcile credit card transactions it’s all there
  • Capability to correct the transactions (which account, which project, $ amount etc.) works great
  • I use an iPad and when I try to touch things to edit they are placed a little too close to each other
  • When I do touch to edit, it should pull up in front of me. I didn’t realize that I had to arrow down to an item to continue to edit
In the field, it is a great tool because I can immediately take a photo of the receipt and not have to keep track of paper, which I always seem to lose or ruin!

We use Certify throughout our organization (we used Excel spreadsheets prior to Certify). Formula's would get changed or simply deleted which would cause various errors. Additionally, we would never have the detail of the individual expenses in our accounting software. Certify was a great addition. We now have detail flowing through to Sage 100 and I can run various analytics in Certify to see our level of spend.
  • Customer service/support: They have an incredible team. We are fans of the chat option and 99.9% of the time our issues are solved within a 5-minute window.
  • Listening to customers: they are always looking for ways to improve their product. They have free conferences sprinkled around various cities. They are worth trending. They provide "what's new in Certify" as well as round-table discussions specifically addressing how their customers are using the product and what they have learned along the way.
  • Keeping their product up to date: Certify takes back various suggestions from the conference to enhance their product. I have been at every conference they have had and have actually seen customer suggestions get implemented into the program.
  • Reporting: I would like to see more chart availability from the program. We include various data points from Certify in our monthly financial statement package. Currently, we export data from the program and create our own pivot tables to create charts.
  • Dashboard feature: It would be nice to be able to use the data for a specific date and then be able to print that information.
  • Can't think of another one. As stated before, they listen to their customers so prior issues have been addressed and implemented.
It fits our organization very well. As stated before we were on the Excel spreadsheet method which did not translate into usable data in our accounting software. All of our employees find it easy to use and the accounting team is able to dive into data for both current and prior reports when questions arise. This has been a great company addition. Happy with our selection!

Our outside salespeople use Certify to submit monthly expense reports for reimbursement. We have about 25 persons using Certify. They typically incur mileage, travel expenses, and some entertaining expenses. Prior to using Certify, we were using paper reports and attaching original receipts to each monthly reimbursement submission. Keeping up with all that paper was cumbersome.
  • Direct deposit reimbursements are very fast. Our users get their funds very quickly.
  • Reporting capabilities within Certify are excellent. Many reports are available and can be created in Excel format for further manipulation when necessary.
  • Support, when needed, has been very good. The knowledgebase is helpful and phone support is available and responsive.
  • The ability to add a receipt after a report has been submitted would be helpful. This would simplify processing as opposed to disapproving the report and sending it back to the user for correction and re-submission.
  • Though not a fault of Certify, our users drive multiple destinations every day, rather than occasional trips from city A to city B. Therefore, capturing mileage is a time-consuming process for our users.
Certify works well for organizations where the same group of employees incurs expenses on a regular basis. It would not be best for situations where various employees incur expenses on a less consistent basis, due to the effort involved in setting up accounts for those employees and training them on the process.

It is used by the Sales Department mainly because of travel, but other departments use Certify when they purchase items with the company card. This helps keep track of every expense every employee makes and makes sure they are all accounted for.

  • OCR engine through App for scanning receipts is awful, to the point of being useless

In a smaller organization setting, or for people that are NOT road warriors like myself that have multiple receipts each day, it would probably be better suited. When you have many many receipts to document each month, going through each to ensure accuracy takes quite a long time and is burdensome.

Certify is used as our expense reporting software for reimbursable and non-reimbursable expenses. It is being used across the whole organization. It avoids us having to use paper receipts and allows managers and the finance department to monitor spending.
  • Mobile capture of receipts.
  • Create and approve expense reports on the mobile app.
  • Reimbursable expenses are easy to process.
  • Sometimes the software that reads the receipt info is not accurate. Close, but never 100%.
  • Admins should not have to take so many steps to access users' accounts.
  • Too many e-mails along the way for expense report approval.
Very easy to use. Support is great! Allows for an approval process for all money spent on company credit cards.

It is being used across the organization. Anyone who has a company credit card uses it, and almost all of the salespeople as well. Accounting oversees it. It helps us to keep all of our credit card receipts easily accessible and reduces paper waste. It makes it much easier to look up previous charges.
  • The app is easy to use and is very convenient.
  • The ability of account managers to go into other employees' accounts makes it easy to help them.
  • The wide range of reporting features makes it easy to look up old information and create Excel sheets with meaningful data.
  • Manually entering data to an expense report is not very user-friendly. I do not like that I have to fill in the category before I can fill in the rest of the data. Sometimes I need to fill it all in and then think about which category would be best.
  • Linking cards to the wallet - we had quite a struggle trying to keep some of our cards linked and they would mysteriously unlink which made for a time-consuming fix involving upper management.
  • SpendSmart - I don't think this area is useful at all to our company.
  • As an account manager, I wish there was an easier way for me to edit each expense in reports. There are times I need to go into every single line item. to change or add detail, and it would be nice if I could edit them on one screen.
Certify is a great tool for anyone needing help with organizing receipts. Very appropriate when you have lots of credit cards to manage.

  • Able to create custom reports designed for your organization to provide you with the information you need.
  • Always has customer service available; whenever an issue might occur they are able to handle it immediately.
  • Extremely user-friendly and does not need WiFi connection at all times.
  • Allowing for receipts to be uploaded after an employee submits a report.

We use Certify for all expense reporting in our engineering department, for field marketing employees, administration, and all upper management. We have a lot of travel within our company, and Certify is a great way to track travel expenses and needs for our employees. We have not utilized the travel portion of the software.
  • The quick and easy recording of receipts, by clicking a couple of buttons and saving the information, is so efficient. No worrying about keeping track of or losing receipts.
  • The reports to pull for following processing expenses are a great help for research purposes.
  • Ease of entering and completing expenses, whether via cell phone or computer.
  • Split Expense function -- I wish it worked better on the mobile app. It is easy to go through the function on the computer, not so much on the mobile app. Most of our employees use the mobile app, so that results in a lot of clean up on my part when processing.
Overall, Certify is great! It is easy to use and easy to submit (except the Split Expense function via mobile devices).

Certify is used by the entire organization, but the bulk of its use is in sales. We use it for expenses. It is extremely simple to use, very intuitive, and has a clean and modern feel to it. Many times we take clients out or use it as a way to thank others for internal trainings. It also helps the company get to know each other as a whole without bothering executives for a credit card. I pick up bagels every Friday for the team and because it's an approved expense I don't have to ping an executive for a card or cash to pay for something. I can simply upload my receipt and be reimbursed by the next pay check.

Certify is well suited for teams with high trust and day to day operating expenses that are approved by a boss and where the boss is not always around to do everything himself. It works well in a sales environment or a marketing department where smaller expenses or club-like expenses can be designated for a smaller group of tenured people to take advantage of without having to get the individuals corporate cards. Certify is not ideal for companies with complicated hierarchy or high turnover.

Certify is used in our organization to capture, organize and process business and travel expenses. It is convenient to use on your mobile device as well as on a desktop computer. The at-a-glance "dashboard" is easy to navigate and makes the process more efficient. I would highly recommend Certify to any organization looking to streamline reimbursement processing.
  • Adding receipts or documentation of purchase(s) is simple with the three upload options that Certify offers. The user can choose to upload from a mobile device via the Certify app, upload via computer or by emailing it to a unique email account that is designated for the individual employee through Certify.
  • The status of expense reports makes it easy to check at-a-glance to see the current status - "Draft, Pending Approval, Pending Payment or Archived".
  • Receipt integration from popular travel services and vendors makes calculating expenses even easier.
  • I'd like to see more options for receipt integration from places where the purchase was made with Apple pay, and the merchant sent a text message receipt of payment.
  • "Create a New Expense Report" page is very basic, possibly creating differentiation with bold character and font size difference would help the user with a faster response to the next step in navigation.
  • The website could use a refresh to make navigating more user-friendly.
Certify is well suited for capturing, organizing and processing expenses with specific time frames, such as business trips or events. This platform seems less suited for the occasional expense, as it can be more challenging to "re-remember" all the steps to report and submit an expense. I have assisted colleagues where this is the case, and it has been a learning curve compared to what we did previously in our organization.

At my company, Certify is used for reimbursement across multiple departments. I personally use it for reimbursements of travel and meals I've incurred during audit trips. It's pretty easy to use and there are multiple ways of using it such as the app and online. I personally like using the app as it lets me save my receipts right away so I don't have to worry about losing them. Certify definitely helps my company reimburse individuals for business expenses in a fast and easy platform to use. I would definitely recommend it to my friends and family if they don't already use it at their company.
  • Certify has multiple ways of submitting your information such as receipts and mileage incurred. I prefer using the app on my phone while I travel. It's convenient and I don't have to worry about keeping all of my receipts safe which may be difficult when you travel.
  • Certify can be configured for my company's needs such as the list of eligible expenses an individual can submit.
  • When submitting your reports, they go directly to your supervisor. You don't have to worry about an extensive process of getting your expenses approved.
  • It would be nice if the app used touch/fingerprint login for ease of use.
Certify is well suited when you need to be reimbursed for meals or travel incurred on the job. I travel for supplier audits and usually pay out of pocket for my travel accommodations so I like to get reimbursed right away if I can. I don't know when Certify would not be appropriate to use as I only use it for work.
