We use Crownpeak DXM for website design and build implementations for our client's customer marketing in the UK, Europe, and the USA. Crownpeak delivers on our core customer marketing principles - European GDPR compliance, and the principle of capturing customer data as part of transparent value exchange is baked into the platform. Their partner relationship and technical roles understand what marketers need from a WCMs investment. We're able to collaborate with them to tailor solutions for client best-fit. DXM is composable too, so we have the flexibility of integrations with several best-of-breed APIs across CRM, PIM, DAM, Commerce already in place. The SaaS model, means we get version updates with new features and functions without our developers getting involved in integration and update tasks. We know exactly what year-on-year platform costs will be, so we can plan content marketing and CRM budgets - rather than spending time and money on developer tasks associated with version updates.
  • Due to the headless nature of the platform, publishing is super fast straight to HTML.
  • One repository of content capable of feeding different applications across different languages.
  • Flexibility of integrations fits well with the compossible enterprise model
  • Back end look and feel is a little dated, could do with some updating on interface design.
  • Navigating content tree's can be a little long winded with deeper content sites, although it's hard to see a way around this.
Crownpeak DXM is particularly well suited to customer-centric CX Driven digital implementations. It has plenty of 'out the box' features which we use on a regular basis with our clients, but it also acts like a headless CMS with the ability to share content across different platforms and integrate with 'best of breed' CRM, PIM, Commerce tools for example. We work closely with Crownpeak to scope and define CX driven solutions for our clients, and it's especially useful when we need to be interoperable with other systems and tools in the customer communications and digital business toolkit. We've used it in B2C commerce situations, in B2B closed environments, and with brands with large volume product inventory management.
Although it has plenty of 'out the box' features, Crownpeak DXM acts like a headless CMS. It's interoperable with other systems and tools in the customer communications and digital business toolkit, including CRM, PIM, and Commerce tools. This fits well with the composable enterprise model, allowing us to work with the 3rd party systems our clients already have in place and (as long as these legacy systems are 'fit for purpose') composing 'best fit' solutions for our clients needs and saving time and money.
Sales, technical and account support have been great for us. Reactive when we have questions, but also proactive in getting involved to understand client requirements from our CX perspective and offer thoughts on interoperability, adaptation and integration possibilities. Developer training was also a good experience, with some very experienced and knowledgable trainers spending quality one on one time with our team.
DXM could benefit from UI upgrades. Training and experience with the admin tool will overcome any challenges however.

We are a Crownpeak partner and implement DXM for various clients. Typically it is used by the marketing, or digital, department on behalf of the whole organization. It serves as a the backbone for the web presence for a business. i.e., it's the product that allows a business to maintain its website easily and effectively, refreshing content as needed.
  • The SaaS platform eliminates the headache of upgrades and patches and allows businesses to just focus on the site development and day-to-day management.
  • Crownpeak's technical support team is always prompt with answering any question or issue that arises.
  • The lack of real-time debugging may contribute to additional development effort at times.
  • Although its my understanding that its being addressed, the publishing queue can be slow at times during extremely heavy publishing loads.
For companies looking to move into a truly cloud-based environment without the complexity of managing servers and upgrades, Crownpeak really shines. It is extremely easy to use from a content editor point of view. Sites built on Crownpeak DXM can be managed by developers with "mid-level" experience, unlike many competitors. Managing digital quality (SEO, accessibility, brand standards, etc.) is a very powerful advantage. Although it is quite capable at integrating with third party solutions, companies that are looking for a ton of "out-of-the-box" add-ons (e-commerce for example) will not find it appropriate.
We've recently begun building out headless solutions on Crownpeak using Vue. This has allowed us to build solutions more quickly, typically while utilizing lower cost resources. In addition, not having to worry about upgrades allows our clients to focus their budgets on important things like new functionality, targeted landing pages, and other initiatives that help drive revenue.
Crownpeak's support team is very prompt and well equipped to answer questions or resolve issues. I would like to see more involvement by peers in the new Crownpeak Community Portal but suspect that will happen over time.
There's always some level of training with new DMX administration, and Crownpeak's decoupled architecture can be a little confusing to new users at first, but its easy enough to overcome and the layout of the content management process is well done.
  • Online training
Our clients typically have multiple websites running on Crownpeak without issues.
Yes
Yes, with Crownpeak, you are always on the current software version so you don't have to "upgrade" like traditional platforms. If you want to utilize new features, then you have to restructure your templates like you would with any platform.

As a digital consulting agency, we provide technology development for a variety of pharma clients. We recommend and deploy Crownpeak DXM as an enterprise solution for efficient and effective content and asset management and website development. Our most current deployment is for an international bio technology firm. We have deployed Crownpeak as the content management solution across the entire enterprise and across all brands. The benefits include content and asset re-use, reduced maintenance and support costs, and measurably faster times to market.
Our last three deployments have have included multiple brands, within the same company. The ability to leverage the Component Library, adn re-use standardized componets, has been a huge advantage. In terms of speed to market and reduced cost of ownership.

  • Component re-use.
  • Scalable platform.
  • Very robust suite of development and post-development tools.
  • Excellent training and support.
  • Built-in support for IP management and geo fencing
  • Multi-language support
  • A-B comparisons of designs
  • Additional integrations with 3rd party tools and systems.
Crownpeak DXM is best for enterprise-wide, cross-department implementations.

Crownpeak DXM is less suitable for deployments of 3 or fewer websites.
Crownpeak DXM's service and support are outstanding. We have immediate access to both the tech support team and the software engineering team. We can get a support person on the phone whenever needed, and we can schedule impromptu training sessions at any time. Best support I have ever received from a platform provider in 20 years of software and application development.
Crownpeak DXM has a flexible platform, that has met every requirement we have had.

Crownpeak is a great CMS

We implement the websites of our customers with Crownpeak DXM. Our clients move to Crownpeak DXM because with their existing CMS they are not able to manage the customer experience and their systems are not flexible and agile. We do a full implementation of their websites: UI/UX Design, Front End Development, Back End Development, SEO, Tagging, Content Migration, and Testing. For example, a recent client wanted to move their 7 different websites (all having 60+ locales) from AEM to Crownpeak DXM. The reason was that AEM is very costly, it takes a lot of time to implement a change, is difficult to maintain, is not flexible, is not agile and AEM resources on the market are expensive. Crownpeak on the other hand is very flexible, agile, less costly (compared to AEM), very secure, easy to maintain, and has a good performance overall.
  • Less time to market
  • Easy to maintain
  • Flexible
  • Secure
  • Good performance
  • Better developer experience
  • More technical documentation
  • Instead of relying on 3rd party personalization (eg Dynamic Yield) invest in improving their own personalization capabilities
Well suited for clients who want to move to a flexible and easy to maintain CMS. Not well suited for small and medium enterprises.
Crownpeak's support team is very responsive and they provide the necessary support very quickly.
Crownpeak is a full SAAS product and all the interfaces and journeys are pretty easy and intuitive to use.

We have implemented Crownpeak DXM for our client's organizations. This includes the development of websites, campaign sites, etc. Crownpeak DXM allows us to design, develop, manage and publish content across multiple channels, and in multiple languages in a very rapid and agile manner. From an architecture standpoint, Crownpeak DMS supports headless and server-rendered architectures which are nice to have that flexibility. In either approach, Crownpeak DMS handles taking care of CMS security, applying patches, performing upgrades, etc. One business challenge that Crownpeak DXM is a great fit for is when organizations need a complementary CMS in order to handle quickly changing needs that might otherwise not be accomplished on their primary CMS.
  • Speed and agility of developing solutions
  • Headless architecture
  • Support for latest security and privacy rules
  • Content taxonomy has a learning curve
Crownpeak DXM is a great solution if you are looking for a flexible platform that allows engineers to quickly develop while also making it easy for content authors to work especially in scenarios where you need multi-language support. It is also good for scenarios where you want a cloud-based solution and are looking for just one vendor to handle hosting and offer the CMS.
As a Crownpeak partner, we have always received excellent support for any questions we have.
From a usability perspective, Crownpeak DMX provides the functionality and administration capabilities that you need to create great digital experiences.

We currently use Crownpeak DXM for some of our clients. For the clients that we provide web content management services via the Crownpeak DXM, they use the platform all across the whole organization also in different languages. The tools provide a seamless content management operations process; the workflow structure and content management process allow non-technical users to create state-of-the-art customer experiences with limited teams. In-built DQM (Digital Quality Management) tool gives the marketing teams the ability to audit their content for accuracy and accessibility. The system has a decoupled deployment structure; as content authors, we are able to create, manage and push content globally (in various languages) with fewer efforts and shorter turnaround times when it comes to delivering complex digital projects without any IT involvement.
  • Build & manage digital experiences without dependency on your IT team
  • Built-in Digital Quality tool (DQM) tool allows you to check the quality of content and any accessibility issues and immediately flag any issues before publishing.
  • Build websites with the component-based technology and spend less effort in creating the best user experience for the end-user
  • Platform can be slow sometimes.
  • Training materials are limited
The Crownpeak DXM solution is totally suitable for any organization looking for a modern cloud-based true-SaaS CMS solution to modernize their website and web operations on time and budget. The ease of use without requiring IT or developers, the ability to move quickly and make updates or push out campaigns with ease and top notch security are some of the differentiators of the tool. In a recent development project for a legal business client, we chose Crownpeak platform for its adaptability, flexibility and ease of maintenance. We integrated the client database with a customized API to their existing services, with the flexibility that the platform offers we used Oracle Connection libraries and server scripting to process the data on the server side. All of these were possible because of Crownpeak's agile structure and the decoupled architecture.
Due to the Cloud-first decoupled architecture there is an advantage of separating the management of the experience from the delivery of the experience. This allows Crownpeak to deliver any type of content into any technology, located anywhere. Another key benefit is its interoperability – it’s very easily integrated with third-party platforms, making it possible to build a world-class marketing technology stack quickly and efficiently. What’s especially unique about Crownpeak is that there’s no need to rip and replace any of your current systems if you’re still getting business value from them.
The Support and Professional Services teams are experienced and knowledgeable, they always promptly respond to questions or issues.
Flexible, agile and easy to use platform for content authors & digital marketers. Seamless integrations with CRM & PIM Globalization & Localization - Streamline translation process with integrated solutions to ensure speed & time to market Integrated Quality Management with DQM to improve SEO & Accessibility Fast, secure and scalable Decoupled technology allows & offers easy integrations
  • Online training
  • in-person training
In some recent projects we have delivered to our clients, we were able to roll out sites in shorter time period due the scalability of the Crownpeak's DXM solution.

My team within the larger organization uses Crownpeak to manage our entire digital website offering. In my specific use case, I use Crownpeak to build out and manage specific landing pages for the Enterprise marketing experience. The main business problem is to build out a space for those in the Enterprise space can come and learn about our product.
  • The webpages themselves are relatively easy to build
  • There are many creative options within the tool to use for web page build outs
  • The UI is very clean and organized
  • The taxonomies within Crownpeak are complicated and could be easier to be organized
  • The platform itself can be slow at times (resolve times can be a bit long)
  • More specifically, saving files can be extremely slow at times...
If your site is not too complicated from a UX perspective i.e. simple landing pages with basic code, Crownpeak can be a very useful option. The downfall for when Crownpeak should not be used is for more complicated site experiences. Use cases where more complicated code is used with video, light tower experiences, and other complicated web HTML will lead to slow load times. The taxonomy issue with the organization is also a real issue.
I have never had to go to the Crownpeak support team to this point.
Overall, the Crownpeak interface and functionality are exactly what we deem as a useful tool for our web experience. Outside of some slowness and taxonomy structure, this tool does exactly what any DXM needs for an organization of any size.

We implemented Crownpeak DXM for our customers. Over the last many years, we have worked on different types of CMSs and have found that none of them are truly SaaS + allow for both server-rendered and pure decoupled builds. Crownpeak allows for both and without any worry about CMS security, patches, upgrades, etc. Crownpeak is very agile, customizable, and easy to implement. Above all, the Content Management experience is one of the best. With Crownpeak, moving content from one environment to another can be achieved at individual page level/asset levels and without any IT involvement/database syncs. Crownpeak allows the content manager to create new pages in a lower environment, as well as manage content and quickly move it through the review process. Once approved, they themselves can push the same page to higher environment/production without re-entering the same content in the new environment. Imagine the same with other CMSs where you would have needed to re-enter the same content again in the new environment. This becomes more practical when your site is already in production and marketing is active with new changes every other day. With Crownpeak, you don't re-do the same content changes again and again in different environments. At the same time, your developers (content writers) can simultaneously keep test content in lower environments without the worry of it spilling over to the higher environment. Speed of implementation, agility, and a great Content Management experience is what Crownpeak DXM stands for, in comparison to other CMSs.
  • Content Management
  • Decoupled as well as server-rendered builds
  • Truly SaaS
  • AI-driven WCO snippets
Crownpeak DXM is best suited for organizations that use both server-rendered and decoupled builds. It is also suited for organizations looking for a multi-site setup with sharable content across all sites and different domain names. You will not be able to make the most of the CMS if you are doing a one-off site with fewer pages and less frequent content changes.

Crownpeak DXM provides complex organizations and their non-IT business leaders with a scalable "turnkey" platform (decoupled CMS, hosting, CDN, etc..) that accelerates go-to-market launches of websites, extranets, digital products, and other content-intensive digital tools. The product addresses the following: GTM Speed [faster to deploy particularly when compared to monolithic, all integrated DX platforms] Commercial flexibility [affordable subscription price with the ability to purchase through AWS Marketplace and include hosting reduces project delay risks associated with having to procure from multiple vendors] Reduction in tech debt and IT risk [implementations and digital operations can be independent of core IT and specialized scarce resources] Business autonomy [Crownpeak often co-exists IT-intensive CMS platforms. Divisions in large orgs benefit from using Crownpeak as a complementary cloud-native solution that more easily responds to quickly changing market needs]
  • Headless architecture option
  • Address performance and scale concerns in regulated industries
  • Integrations with lead gen, 3rd party data, and transactional systems
  • Service level agreement options
  • Clearer product direction regarding onsite search
  • Quick start kits (where a client can accelerate a POC)
  • Accessibility, privacy integration of other Crownpeak tools
Crownpeak DXM is a great headless option for large, complex organizations that need more bundled capabilities like hosting, as an example, under a flexible vendor umbrella.
With several acquisitions recently, there have been some staff changes and internal mobility.
Crownpeak is very easy once you have invested some time in the system. That said, new users may benefit from a simpler experience with more tooltips.

Crownpeak offers the best in class suite of options as a CMS that connects our technology stack together. The ability to manage a website's front end with speed and agility is second to none. • Offering a selection of best in class partner solutions.
  • Speed and agility when deploying assets or campaigns.
  • High quality customer service.
  • None that I can think of
Crownpeak DXM is well suited for financial businesses that have a lot of content they need to manage and deploy, as well as for retailers who have a large catalog of products and content they need to merchandise. Crownpeak DXM may not make sense for smaller or growing brands that have a limited catalog of products and content.

It is our CMS of choice for our website.
  • Asset organization
  • Publishing
  • Working in the editors may require lots of scrolling.
It's well suited for managing a company website and it is friendly with review and development processes.
It's pretty adaptable.
Because it's generally good.

Crownpeak DXM is being used by the digital experience team within the Corporate Marketing Department at my organization. We're using it to manage and host our 19+ sites and their related image, video, PDF and other assets.
  • Simplistic Content Management - the system is very easy to learn and use.
  • Customer Support Team is great - our issues get responses and resolution in a timely manner.
  • It's really easy to clone/duplicate assets, which helps with building out new sites or new sections within existing sites.
  • The DQM tool helps us track, identify and correct any organic SEO or general website functionality issues.
  • I never got to use the desktop application version - which my colleagues love(ed) - but the web browser version, although easy, has some weird glitches. For instance, I have to refresh the browser one-two times per day to get the scroll bar to appear to scroll through long form asset files/content pages.
  • It would be nice to have some kind of capability to have new files/PDFs wrapped when you upload them. At the moment, I have to upload a new file, then go manually wrap it before I embed it on a page, which adds an extra step to common tasks I perform.
  • This is minor, but since CrownPeak is soon phasing out it’s app, it’d be nice if the desktop portal/interface had a more responsive design (especially for folks who have to work from home because of the pandemic and don’t have a robust set up). In my experience, CrownPeak’s competitor’s Sitecore and Drupal have a browser portal/interface that is much more responsive and laptop screen-friendly.
It's great for companies that manage multiple websites. Everything is in one place on a tool that's easy to use.

CrownPeak just needs to enhance the user experience a bit for the tool to warrant a 9/10 or 10/10, in my opinion.
I don't specifically work for the part of digital experience that manages any customization, but they all say it's pretty adaptable.
Our tickets get responses and resolution in a timely manner.
Great tool, but minor annoyances like glitches in the browser interface can add up, especially on high-volume work days.

Crownpeak DXM is used as our content management system. We host our corporate country sites as well as microsites on Crownpeak. Business users and third party content managers use the CMS to create and edit our country sites and microsites.
  • Able to easily make edits to content and publish.
  • Able to easily understand CMS navigation.
  • Scheduled publishing is useful feature.
  • Searching for a particular asset is almost unusable, you have to know exact name of the asset you are looking for.
  • Pages with many assets or dependencies take a long time to load.
  • Set up a way to automatically migrate content - API or automation tools.
Crownpeak is relatively easy to use CMS, but there are a few features that need improvement.
Support has been helpful with Crownpeak thus far. Some support agents take a long time to reply, but others are very responsive and helpful.
Not too easy to understand when first introduced to the system. Once used to the system and able to understand how to navigate it is easier.

Crownpeak DXM is used to host and manage our main websites. It allows us devs to create rich templates and at the same time allows content managers to change the content without having to get the engineering team involved.
  • Ease of changing content
  • Can create multiple types of pages from a single template
  • Manage files in one place
  • Templates are hard to design; only developers really can interact with the templates
  • Need a better way to allow marketing teams to design quick templates, like drag-and-drop designer
  • Takes some time to get used to different features
It is well suited for medium-level websites in my opinion. I believe the more complicated and advanced a site is, the harder it will be to maintain in Crownpeak DXM. This is well suited for environments where design does not drastically change a lot but content is updated more often. It is appropriate in most cases but takes some time to learn.
Support is always prompt and thorough--always responds in a timely manner
It is very easy to use, after you get used to all the quirks and understand how to use all of the features

We use the Crownpeak DXM platform with one of our large utility clients to power their marketing sites and customer portals.
  • Seamless upgrades and enhancements. In true Saas fashion, you don't have to worry about what version your software is on, as you are always on the latest.
  • Highly performant. Allows you to create extremely lightweight applications that have no load time and snappy performance.
  • The admin UI takes a little getting used to for new users.
I recommend it in any ecosystem where you need to manage content across multiple channels and devices. There isn't really a scenario where Crownpeak is not a good solution. The only exception would be when IT would rather maintain more control over the architecture and hosting.
We use it to power multiple websites across geographic regions. Of course integrating with the client's IDM system and looking to have a commerce integration down the road.
Highly responsive team- from leadership to consultant. Quick to hop on the phone, organize support, and maintain communication.

Epsilon assists our clients with building, configuring, integrating, and operating their content management solutions using Crownpeak. With Crownpeak we can work with clients who have needs at the work group level or business unit level to get the benefits of a full content management solution at a lower overall cost. We can also work with organizations to implement at the corporate level. In all, clients us Crownpeak to get the traditional productivity, consistency, and delivery benefits of a content management platform.
  • Ability to deploy at a work group level
  • Compartmentalize their solution for client flexibility
  • Compete on their differences and embrace them
Although it can be used at a corporate level, it is a fantastic solution for getting a company's feet wet. Work groups or business units can deploy, can get quick wins and show improvements, and then get more groups to buy in. Not a lot of solutions have that business flexibility with licensing.
We've been able to get clients and their business units up and running very quickly. For one multi-brand company, we are able to use templates from prior brands being onboarded to bring on the next brand more quickly, and each subsequent brand similarly. Thus, the total costs across brands is reduced and the company recognizes benefits faster.
will dig in and work through any troubleshooting issues with the team.

We use Crownpeak DXM as the CMS for our enterprise website for US and International. We are also looking to expand the CMS to our product websites.
  • Lots of flexibility.
  • Easy to use user interface.
  • Platform runs slowly.
  • Brand not well known in industry.
Flexible to publish content almost anywhere. Easy to scale for enterprises with multiple web properties. Great up time and support. Does require development resources.
The support we receive is great. Our inquiries are responded to very fast, and we have had no turnover on our account for nearly 5 years which is almost unheard of. This means our support team has a lot of domain knowledge and familiarity with our unique set up making troubleshooting and break/fix inquiries fast and easy.

DXM acts as our complete web governance for the website and it's a tool that we utilize to ensure our digital experiences comply with accessibility, brand, SEO, legal and usability standards. It's been a great tool for improving the accessibility requirements of our website to meet with WCAG guidelines.
  • Provide guidelines with SEO related issues on each landing page
  • Use it to resolve all the accessibility issues with the website
  • User interface could be better to navigate
  • Provide some information on the errors to educate the user
  • Improve SEO: ensures compliance with best practices and guidelines, some of the main reasons we utilize the platform is for monitoring misspellings, broken image, and broken link detection
  • Web Accessibility: fully supports Web Content Guidelines (WCAG).
They're there to support you every step of the way ensuring everything is working the way it's supposed to and assist you where it's needed and provide guidance and assistance.

Our company is a digital agency that develops and maintains websites for many clients, and we use Crownpeak for websites with several of our clients. I'm not sure why Crownpeak is used other than that it's cloud-based and our company has a long history with it, so we have a partnership with Crownpeak.
  • The form inputs are very flexible
  • The REST API is generally pretty intuitive
  • It feels very top-to-bottom and self-contained, so I don't have to bother with lots of plugins and interop and such
  • Navigation within the folder structure feels clunky all-around.
  • Local debugging is difficult-to-impossible
  • The Visual Studio plugin is buggy
  • True documentation for the REST API is sparse
From what I can gather from the conversations happening among more important people around me, it seems as if using Crownpeak makes sense for large enterprises when they wants a complete solution that includes hosting. From a developer perspective, the only reason I would suggest working with Crownpeak is that at least you get to use C#. None of the devs I know enjoy working with it overall, or feel like it helps them be as productive as they'd like to be.
I bent the heck out of it to build a development framework for using it as a headless CMS. It was fun and the result has been pretty good. I haven't worked with any integrations. It would be very nice to be able to use third-party libraries in the template code.
We get pretty quick responses from our main support guy, but he frequently needs to forward the questions to the technical team, which can take much longer to get back to us.

Crownpeak is being used across our entire organization. We use it to publish community events and for registrations of those events.
  • The ability to search for registrants within a list
  • Individualizing event information
  • Takes a LONG time to load.
  • Can't delete a registrant without them being notified (for example, if someone registers multiple times).
  • Can't upload files in special instructions (for example, an event flyer).
If your registration fields are similar to their template then it works well. However, you can't take away any of their automatic fields, which is frustration. There are situations where address, email, etc. isn't necessary for us, but it is still required. I wish you could take fields away that you don't need, not just the option to add to their existing fields.
It is somewhat adaptable. In some areas, they have been able to meet our needs. In others, we have asked for what seem to be simple tasks, but are told it would be multiple upgrades in the future before the request could be considered.
when asking for changes we are told it would have to be in future upgrades.
