Abilia MIP Fund Accounting from an IT manager's perspective
Overall Satisfaction with MIP Fund Accounting (formerly Abila MIP)
Currently we use MIP at United Cerebral Palsy of Mobile for our accounting. We use it to track accounts receivable, accounts payable, track inventory, and reporting. We use it in our accounting department, and one administrative assistant who utilizes it to track items that we sell. It also helps us track the inventory.
Pros
- Customer Service is always great.
- backups are very quick
- updates are very easy to install
- Cost effective solution for our non-profit.
Cons
- adding an invoice on the fly could be made easier
- tracking customers and purchases that they have made could be made easier
- printing mailing labels of customers for mail outs would be a great feature they could add
- Getting everyone trained to use MIP Fund Accounting was very costly as we had to have an expert on MIP to come to our location train us in on how to use the software.
We moved from QuickBooks Pro to provide a better reporting mechanism of the monies and tracking of the streams of revenue in our non-profit world. We have seen better reporting after converting to the MIP Fund Accounting and we are able to produce reports that the Board is better able to understand.
