Overall Satisfaction with ActiveCampaign

We use ActiveCampaign to manage sales and marketing automation, from their embedded forms to email sequences and website personalization. It's a good way to handle all our automation in one place and make it easy for team members to work on them. While the CRM feature is good, we use it in conjunction with a separate CRM.
  • Email automations.
  • Website personalisation.
  • Marketing attribution.
  • Interface can be quite slow and clunky.
  • Some quirks - e.g. duplicating automations - make it time consuming.
  • Our form validation requirements needed external development - other platforms offer this built-in.
  • Improved lead qualification process.
  • Reduced time sales teams spend following up leads.
The functionality is comparable but the price for ActiveCampaign is a lot better than most competitors, for the number of active contacts. It's pretty much as easy to use as HubSpot and while not a powerful as Marketo, it's got enough features to make it really useful for marketing automation.

For small and growing businesses looking to get all the key functionality of sales/marketing automation, ActiveCampaign does really well for the price. It can be a little involved to get everything you need from it, but so far there's nothing that I've tried to do that can't be achieved eventually. For larger teams with larger marketing databases, there are other tools that might be more appropriate.
