Overall Satisfaction with ActivTrak

We use ActivTrak to monitor employees, especially in departments that deal directly with our customers, i.e., Sales, Technical Support, and Help Desk. While most of our staff worked remotely during COVID-19, the Working Hours reports were invaluable. It really helps you see the Total Time, Active Time, Productive, Unproductive, Undefined, and Passive Time by User.
  • The application is very intuitive and easy to use!
  • The reports are invaluable to the success of any company, especially when you have staff members that are working remotely.
  • The Dashboard lets you see things at a glance, then you can dig in from there.
  • The blocking mechanism that restricts Social Media, Video sites, etc. really helps.
  • When you have an employee that is fired or quits, it would be nice to be able to remove them from a group even when using Active Directory.
  • It has given us the basis to let someone go that wasn't doing their job.
  • When we had a customer claim that a technician had done something when remoting into their server that caused them a problem, it proved that our technician wasn't at fault.
  • Working Hours Report gives you details about when a user logged in, last had activity, when they logged out, etc. This data in this report is invaluable.
  • The Dashboard is comprehensive and shows you the applications, sites, categories, etc. for each of the applications. Pie charts, Bar graphs, etc. are extremely useful.
  • The screenshots allow you to see specific details about a user's productivity.
ActivTrak has helped us improve productivity because we can address problems before they become habits that can't be fixed. Previously we only had a timeclock system and phone logs. With ActivTrak we now have information about everything that happens on company computers from the time an employee arrives and logs in until they leave for the day!
It is more difficult to know how and if an employee is performing their job responsibilities when working remotely without a tool like ActivTrak. We were able to retain all of our employees during the pandemic because of the tools that ActivTrak provided our managers. I would highly recommend this company and its software because it is reasonably priced and will give you insight into what is really going on.
I don't remember the name of the other software program that we used to monitor company computers, but we only had a couple of licenses. However, the software couldn't be deployed remotely. Additionally, it recorded all activity and you had to go through and watch the entire video, not just be able to do periodic spot checks.
ActivTrak is awesome for monitoring the productivity of employees. It helps when you are training a new employee because you can review what they are doing. Additionally, when you have a problem employee that isn't doing what they are supposed to be doing, it gives you the details that you need to make counseling or firing decisions. On the positive side of things, when applications and websites are categorized, it shows you which employees are extremely valuable to your organization because they are going above and beyond.
