Overall Satisfaction with ADP Workforce Now
We have 2 companies and over 200 employees and have been processing
payroll for over a year through ADP's Workforce platform. We had
previously used the Run platform for over 10 yrs. The workforce platform
has been fine for HR related tasks but an absolute nightmare for
payroll. The nightmare began with set up, an implementation team that
changed, lacked knowledge and skills for proper set up. Ongoing issues
with disappearing tax codes, and tax errors. Site functionality is
pathetic, numerous technical glitches, tax returns not available within
the reports module, to be told to use a work around, for the
"workaround" not to work either. 4 support tickets and hours on the
phone and still can not access or get copies of our local tax returns.
Their support is frustrating at best but more often than not worthless.
It takes 2-3 phone calls to solve an issue or to get a support ticket.
Paychecks voided only to reappear and after 4 phone calls and the pay
showing as corrected to still be included on their W2's. We have been
grossly overcharged for tax set ups and filings in local jurisdictions
with 0 amounts that were never needed and should never have been set up and we made numerous attempts to correct.
Numerous calls to be told it was fixed and charges corrected, the charges stopped for 1 month and then started again. There have been more
issues and errors in 1 year than in the previous 20 years of processing
payrolls and the fees were 4x more not including over a hundred hours
dealing with issues and support and again we still have no access to our
local municipality tax returns that were filed, if they were filed and
30 days after the qtr end no access to our state UC returns that are
needed for an audit.

- employee reporting
- implementation and set up team lacking in knowledge
- technical issues glitches with platform
- Support is worthless
- no accountability when there are issues and failures within their system
- overly complicated and difficult to navigate
- We were overcharged by over 20,000 for tax codes and set up and that was never needed or required for jurisdictions that not only do we not operate in, we also don't have any employees who reside in them.
- We currently have unresolved audits because we can not access some of our tax returns and filings.
- What was intended to save us time and streamline processes has actually cost us time and money.
- time and attendance
We had previously used ADP's Run platform and thought it would make for an easier transition. We could not have been more wrong. Pay information was not transferred, we were told we would have access to our reports in Run for a year instead we were locked out after a month. They filed 941's for same quarter from both platforms because they did not transfer any of the previous data and we were told an amended return to combine the information was done but it didn't show up within any of the reporting or tax return areas of Workforce Now. Their implementation team set up one of our businesses that has tipped employees incorrectly which resulted in our employees being paid for tips they had already received in cash and then repeatedly telling us we needed to put stop payments on their checks when ADP sweeps the payroll in one withdrawal from our account and it had already been withdrawn.

ADP Workforce Now Support
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
None | Slow Resolution Poor followup Less knowledgeable Problems left unsolved Not kept informed Escalation required Difficult to get immediate help Need to explain problems multiple times Support doesn't seem to care Slow Initial Response |
Should not have to pay additional for support when the issue is malfunctioning parts of their platform like tax returns / reports not being available within the tax reporting module, or within ireports or within the "smart" compliance module
Yes - No, multiple support tickets and still no resolution and has continued through multiple quarters.
No, unless you count the technical issue that caused dozens of local tax codes to disappear from employee records that were active and had been paid previously that delayed our payroll being processed. During initial support call got attitude while attempting to find out what the error was that was preventing our payrolls from processing for them to try to claim that we had gone in and deleted dozens of tax codes, However when they realized the issue was on their end they got considerably nicer.
