Overall Satisfaction with Blackbaud CRM

Our organization uses Blackbaud Raisers Edge for our CRM for fundraising, events, action tracking, donor contact, marketing and financials. It is used by Development, Finance, and Program Outreach. It accurately tracks fundraising numbers and constituent interactions so hundreds of employees can be aware of such actions and not "step on each other's toes". Biographical information is easy to enter and update and using Queries and Exports is fairly simple.

  • Running financial reports.
  • Recording donor interactions
  • Tracking marketing efforts
  • Exporting large amounts of donor information
  • Recording donor attributes and communication preferences
  • Steep learning curve for a new user
  • Interface is not user friendly
  • Queries and Exports are extremely prone to user-error
  • Searching for donors by information other than name
  • Action tracking for donor interactions
  • Donation and financial records
  • Biographical and address information
  • Different constituency codes for giving societies
  • Decades of revenue tracking.
  • Reconciliation with financials.
  • Comprehensive tracking of donor communication for decades of time.
Blackbaud is a superior database, with more extensive functionality. DonorPerfect is better for a smaller organization with less database information.

For a non-profit that is donor based, Blackbaud Raiser's Edge is one of the best options. If price is a concern, it may not be a great option, and if time to learn the software is limited, this may also be a bad option.

Support is slow to respond, and it is difficult to find customer service contact information. Often times there's outages or the database will randomly go down for several hours.
