Umbrella Protects Us From More Than Rain

We've been using Cisco Umbrella since before it was acquired by Cisco. It's been a fantastic addition to our team in order to help in blocking / avoiding nefarious and/or questionable sites, or sites that don't fit within our business use guidelines. We provide team member's the ability to access approved sites, request whitelists, and avoid visiting sites that could potentially introduce malware or the like. We really appreciate how the solution works off-network unlike a hardware/appliance solution, especially in a hybrid environment we find ourselves in where more and more computers are running from uncontrolled networks.

As mentioned previously, our endpoints are completely protected from undesired browsing while both on-net (through use of the virtual appliance to process all DNS requests) and off-net (through use of the client). We run a VA (Virtual Appliance) with failover in each of our physical offices ensuring peace of mind that our network is always secured.

The client has since been integrated with Cisco's AnyConnect client and we are able to integrate the service within our Cisco Firepower Management Center. The integration with Active Directory provides us easy to manage user groups and settings, reporting of 'who' did 'what', and our I.T. Team has peace of mind since we access the admin portal integrated with our SSO and MFA provider, Cisco DUO.
