Overall Satisfaction with D&B Hoovers

Honestly, I am quite happy with my current services with D&B Hoovers. There are some challenges, but more on my end. The company is so big that I cannot necessary make any decisions for the platform on behalf of the whole company. In addition, we potentially have deals in other countries and I was told that we might get one centralized account. Unfortunately, the company is so big that I wonder if this might have been pushed aside. Therefore, I cannot do anything to improve things and when I do reach out on a global scale, it feels like it gets brushed away.

The data does resonate with what our company needs. In terms of filters, we focus a lot on the industries, as our team tend to be split per specialties. For an example, we have recruiters that focus on blue collar roles and as a result, we would filter for warehousing related industries. In addition, other useful filters include the location from the province to the zip codes.
Unfortunately, we do not use this feature with Hoovers. I tried looking into it once and I believe it is either because we do not have enough lines for this type of download or because we were doubtful on some of the accuracy of the contacts. We really use the Hoovers tool for anything related with companies.

Many consultants in our company look for a new chaselist whenever they start or are looking to expand into a new market. The D&B Hoovers tool helps a lot when it comes to this. In addition, there are requests that want to see how the market is broken down per industry and we tend to use Hoovers's data as a benchmark to see if it would make sense with our specialties.

Using D&B Hoovers

10 - There is a variety of people who has access to the tool. Overall, the tool is to used to identify new opportunities by creating a new chase list of companies to go after. The lists can be based from a geographical or industry stand point and D&B Hoovers has all of this information already. Another usage of the platform could be linked to associating the clients its respective industries. Based on the DUN numbers, we can linked our clients to the appropriate industry. There might be other usages, but this is what I am aware of within my scope.
We do not have anyone in-house supporting us. I believe I have a contact if we do encounter any problems, but the person might be more sales oriented instead of technical. We did have someone else before. I believe her name was Elegrina, but she resigned. Despite that, the replacement was very nice and introduced themselves already.

The D&B tool has really open up new opportunities for us and really helped the business. Additionally, on a personal level, the platform is very easy to use and I never had any problems with it. From there, I was also able to build some interesting analyses that helped me grow within the company and land me where I am today. I do not use it as much as I used to, but I know what I can do with this tool if needed.

When I started working for my company, we already had D&B, so I am not sure who actually purchased it nor did I know how long we had it. I inherit the tool, as there was a time where I was the individual who used it the most in the company.
I would not change anything.

D&B Hoovers Support

I've never contacted support for this product
I did not purchase the premium support. It is quite hard to get anything new or changed within the account. The company is quite big and it is hard to tell if we might have something on a global stand point. Last time we had some discussions, it was postponed, as someone higher up mentioned that he was communicating with someone else.
I've never requested for support, so unfortunately, I do not have a story to tell.
