D&B Hoovers does have the data we need to resonate with our next customer. the most essential information for us is Revenue, company size, location, paydex score and finally the contacts of the company to reach out to.

The data does resonate with what our company needs. In terms of filters, we focus a lot on the industries, as our team tend to be split per specialties. For an example, we have recruiters that focus on blue collar roles and as a result, we would filter for warehousing related industries. In addition, other useful filters include the location from the province to the zip codes.

The company data is great from D&B Hoovers, and searching by location and SIC codes has been great for building lists. But the accuracy of the contacts has been lacking with a smaller percentage of them being accurate with cell and email addresses. Though the company phone number is pretty accurate.

There is much more data than I usually need listed in the company profile. I mainly look at the employee headcount and also the annual revenue to give me a rough idea of the company size. This helps me weed out tiny companies where the return on my time investment would likely be minimal. The most effective way to find companies seems to be searching for them by their website domain name. If that fails, I can usually put in the company name and city and find a listing.

Overall it is pretty good, but the estimated data is all over the place. I have been watching a few companies for the past 5-6 years and none of the company data has been updated despite known growth at the company. I have brought up these examples to my direct contacts at Hoovers and nothing has changed. Just like with all data providers, you will see outdated info - but the companies are incentivized to have some outdated info or bad records since they are on a credit pricing model. This is not just a Hoovers issue, this is a all data providers issue that I've looked at

Yes & no. Many times, the company doesn't exist in their database, especially if it's a small company. If I cannot find it in Hoovers, I have to resort to the internet, which leads to hours of research just to find the correct person. I use Bombora Intent because I can narrow down the industry.

When I am searching for company information in D&B Hoovers, I always use the search criteria to drill down into the specific information I need. I particularly like the job role field so I am reaching the exact job function and not a bunch of other roles that will just delete my email.

Yes, filters are great and allow you to search for things from a variety of angles. I would say however, that for smaller companies, some data can be a little out of date (though it is understandable since these companies are harder to dig info on!).

The most essential field that I'm looking for is email address or some other direct contact. It's becoming harder and harder to get person-to-person contact with people. I find many email addresses are for People to avoid interacting with other people, so finding verified email addresses of people who are actually responding or engaging with emails is tantamount. Because of the way e-mail privacy is working these days, email addresses from people who open their emails is pretty well worthless, I need to know what hours of which days people engage (click) inside their emails.

D&B Hoovers does offer excellent data that we need, again, just need more in our vertical.
The most essential to us is the contacts cell phone, email and title. We want to be sure we are reaching the correct person we need to in regards to the opportunity we are offering.
