Overall Satisfaction with DocuSign
We are a SaaS company and while it's been a good tool for us, although we had some challenges integrating it to Salesforce CPQ (Steelbrick). Granted, this is because the Steelbrick connector was not advanced enough to meet our requirements for transferring data from SFDC to DocuSign We have a custom integration but it does work well. We're able to custom-send information to Docusign depending on the product being sold or contract type and this has reduced confusion with the reps in using the wrong Docusign template for a particular transaction.
Overall, it's been an effective tool and has met our requirements. We have a highly transactional business and our reps are able to get notifications when documents are making their way through the signature process and are able to quickly close/win deals in SFDC based on the document status. We also use DocuSign for all documents for employees (new hires and terminations) which has allowed for better diligence in tracking and storing this HR documentation.
Docusign does differentiate themselves from some other e-signature providers by being PCI compliant and SOC 1/2 which is becoming more and more of a requirement in many businesses. Support has generally been helpful the few times we have needed to understand a feature or requested an enhancement.

- Straightforward/ease of use for end-users
- Ad-hoc handling of docs to sign
- Tracking the signature process via email notifications
- Sales/renewal process was quite inefficient. We've been passed around to different reps frequently.
- Need improved integration with Salesforce CPQ. This would benefit many, many customers using both platforms
- Removing most manual processes for sending contracts
- Clear accountability for capturing signatures and keeping data in folders - if an employee who sent the document is no longer with us, we can still retrieve the document(s) they sent
- Understanding where the document stands in the signature procurement process (signatures remaining, who has viewed, who has signed)
Looked at PandaDoc about 18 months ago because of the interesting functionality around tracking redlines in contracts. This is something we are interested in, but PandaDoc was not PCI compliant (we capture billing info on our DocuSign forms). At that time they were pursuing it, I don't know where it stands. Their red line tracking/communication features were interesting and are not something that DocuSign offers.
