Overall Satisfaction with Heap
It's being used buy some product teams and likely some business analysts as well. The biggest use case we use is the funnel analysis. We ask several questions across multiple pages and heap helps us identify drop off. I'd like to start using it to see additional insights on user behavior.
- Funnel analysis is very strong. We typically analyze different question flows that we're A/B testing, and heap allows us to segment by device type too.
- Heap is a great for researching unknowns. You don't have to define events up front, everything is retroactive to when heap was installed on the site.
- Heap blog and university provide great resources for getting started. Plus the free plan makes it really appealing for side projects!
- Enterprise plan quota limits and current status - We want to be conscious of going over our limit because we might not be able to get budget to get more sessions.
- Defining events has to be done in a different screen from where you're defining a report - this is annoying.
- Event lists can grow to be HUGE and disorganized, I think there could be a better way of organizing these.
- Improved conversion rate.
- Improved engagement on specific pages.
GA is way more cost effective, but it's not nearly as robust or reliable. Heap is great because it's retroactive and you don't have to start tracking events to analyze later. when you're ready to do the analysis, the events are already there waiting for you, and this helps us move so much faster.
