Overall Satisfaction with Heap

It's being used buy some product teams and likely some business analysts as well. The biggest use case we use is the funnel analysis. We ask several questions across multiple pages and heap helps us identify drop off. I'd like to start using it to see additional insights on user behavior.
  • Funnel analysis is very strong. We typically analyze different question flows that we're A/B testing, and heap allows us to segment by device type too.
  • Heap is a great for researching unknowns. You don't have to define events up front, everything is retroactive to when heap was installed on the site.
  • Heap blog and university provide great resources for getting started. Plus the free plan makes it really appealing for side projects!
  • Enterprise plan quota limits and current status - We want to be conscious of going over our limit because we might not be able to get budget to get more sessions.
  • Defining events has to be done in a different screen from where you're defining a report - this is annoying.
  • Event lists can grow to be HUGE and disorganized, I think there could be a better way of organizing these.
  • Improved conversion rate.
  • Improved engagement on specific pages.
It can be cumbersome at times. defining events in a large organization gets cumbersome. Some events are already defined, and you never realize there are duplicates unless you're really strict with your naming conventions. Overall, the pure volume of events that heap gathers is a benefit, but organizing them is a challenge.
I've had no significant, memorable issues with Heap's performance. I don't remember any, at least.
GA is way more cost effective, but it's not nearly as robust or reliable. Heap is great because it's retroactive and you don't have to start tracking events to analyze later. when you're ready to do the analysis, the events are already there waiting for you, and this helps us move so much faster.

Do you think Heap delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Heap's feature set?

Yes

Did Heap live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Heap go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Heap again?

Yes

Funnel analysis is great. I'd love to see if you can track across multiple domains - they're in the same account. A lot of our tracking software falls short in this area, so having that would be a really great benefit. I wish we could integrate it into our A/B testing more easily, too. Right now we have to build new reports for each variation.
