Overall Satisfaction with Higher Logic

Higher Logic is used as the private social network platform for the members of the organization. It addresses the issue of privacy and relevant discussions according to member level and status. As it contains groups, the synchronization from the CRM enables functionality for private discussion forums, as well as micro websites that are specific to target groups, such as committees and chapters.
  • Private groups
  • Private discussions
  • Document libraries
  • Microsites
  • CMS for websites could be more user-friendly.
  • Can be hard to integrate in some instances.
  • Integration with traditional social media outlets would be great.
  • The alternative systems are taking over the use of HL.
  • The privacy and granularity.
  • Microsite empowerment for volunteers.
Higher Logic had an integration with iMIS, which was the CRM of choice at the time. It also interfaced well with our server infrastructure and technology for single sign-on development. Overall, the features of Higher Logic were more comprehensive than those of its competitor, with a more developed API for ease of integration.
Support has always been very good from Higher Logic. Easy to submit a help desk ticket and easy to get answers when appropriate. The customer service level of Higher Logic is of great quality and their staff takes the time to address the issues at hand as quickly as possible.
The software is not that simple to use when you have to get volunteers involved in the content assembly process. The content management system that is native to Higher Logic could improve to make the task of training volunteers far easier. Given its simplicity, it is hard for the system to rival more developed websites that use advanced CMS software.

Well suited for private organizational discussions, private websites, groups, granular levels of access by member types. Less appropriate for mass information distribution, since members tend to gravitate towards using traditional social media outlets, such as Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook. As a content management system, it could be more developed to provide organizations with an all in one solution, in particular, for organizations that are small and don't require a sophisticated CRM integration.
