Overall Satisfaction with Intacct

Intacct was used as the core accounting software as a service. It is used by the accounting and finance department. It acted as our main depository for accounting data.

Pros

  • Very intuitive
  • User friendly
  • Data and modules are laid out well

Cons

  • Report building tool should be as intuitive as the rest of the product
  • Customer service should receive more in depth training; particularly in the tools top level settings
  • There should be a more intuitive way to have multiple tabs open; alt+d+enter is fine, but many people don't know that trick
  • Ease of pulling data for internal information users
Intacct allows for more flexibility, but this also means it is less structured. Intacct has a much faster start up time for a first-time user. The lay out of Intacct is far superior to JD Edwards.
Overall, the product is a gem. There are some issues, but I never found a pitfall that didn't have a relatively easy work around. There could be a greater analysis portion of the product, but as a person who input the data, I really enjoyed using the product. I know exactly where to go to find the data I'm looking for. The tab menus are very clear and concise.
The speed and ease of pulling data is great. The layout of the tool is very nice. I particularly like the ability to reorder the entry fields. It would be great to see that across all of the data entry screen. For instance, the AP module did not allow editing of the order of fields.

The time and expense module is not my favorite. We eventually went with a different tool to fill that need.
