Overall Satisfaction with Litmus
We love using Litmus for QA - it addresses the problem of emails rendering differently for various clients, and allows us to personalize our emails not only to the email client, but to our audience members as well. Before using Litmus, we were manually testing by sending to different accounts - an approach that took more time and wasn't always accurate.
Pros
- Rendering different emails in different clients
- Dark mode QA Testing
- Providing email accessibility feedback
- Providing loading speed and image blocking details so we can optimize our emails
Cons
- Would love to have more code snippets provided by Litmus for more "drag and drop" editing
- Expansion of personalization use cases in the "Personalize" tab
- Better functioning Chrome extension - it struggles to load, goes blank, or will partially remain open on the side of my Mailchimp email interface when I'm testing emails on the side of the screen
- Shorter email testing time
- Centralized testing location - no digging through emails for comments/edits
- Easier to begin optimizing all of our emails for dark mode as it continues to grow
Absolutely. Love having the Chrome extension for Litmus available so we can test within the software and see how things look, or make edits as we go along. Much easier than editing, sending, and going back and forth. I do wish that the Chrome extension did not crash as much - sometimes it stays open, goes blank, etc. but most of the time it does not give us too many issues.
We are absolutely a more personalized experience for our consumers today after using Litmus. With the testing, audience insights, and optimization efforts we have been able to achieve through Litmus, our marketing strategy truly focuses on meeting consumers where they are and delivering very personalized content that they can immediately act upon.
I am our one person email builder, but having our writer be able to go in and edit, or asking additional people to join in on the editing process has been extremely helpful and saved a great deal of time. Instead of digging through prior emails or receiving edited PDF copies of a developed email, comments and updates are now all available in one centralized location.
For more in-depth QA and personalization needs, Litmus is the way to go. I believe that Litmus should be used in conjunction with a product like Mailchimp or Constant Contact to support your email development efforts. I would not use any one of these by itself if you really want to create an end product that can provide the greatest ROI and use for your end consumer.
