Overall Satisfaction with Mailchimp

We use it to send eblasts to our various market sectors on a bi-monthly basis. It allows us to have continual touches with potential prospects as well as current clients. We need to continually communicate with our current clients and priority prospects. We want them to recognize us as industry thought leaders.
  • Easy to use.
  • Stores many contacts.
  • Interface is clean.
  • Interface keeps changing.
  • Pricing goes up with number of contacts.
  • Doesn't connect to Cosential.
  • Little ROI impact.
  • Mainly used for touch points.
  • Low click through rates.
  • Just used for relationship management.
Mailchimp is superior to Cosential's native e-blast mailing system because Cosential is currently sunsetting their native e-blast function. The list creation and tagging is much easier in Mailchimp. Cosential's interface is outdated and not user friendly. Mailchimp has made efforts to be modern and user friendly, although the number of times they have changed the interface is frustrating.
It is fairly easy to use. Standard templates are pretty easy to work with in Mailchimp. The features are fairly basic. I'm not too concerned with having a lot of features, but others might prioritize a more robust system. I prioritize ease of use. I need something that just works.
We don't use the all in one functions. We depend on Cosential CRM for our other relationship management needs. We wish there was a connection between Mailchimp and Cosential. All in one marketing platforms try to do too much in my opinion. It's best to stick with what each program is best at.
The lessons I have learned are to keep your lists clean so that you are not paying for contacts that you are not using. You must continually update contacts so that they don't get out of date. Don't spam your contacts lists. Only promise a minimum number of touches to maintain contact.
It is well suited to companies that don't have a native mailing app within their CRM or customer relationship management system. It seems to be geared towards smaller to mid sized organizations. Large companies may find the interface a bit basic. It is well suited to companies with modest e-blast schedules of mailings.
