Overall Satisfaction with Marketo

Marketo is being used by our LOB within Capital One. We are the Capital One Advisors 401k group. We primarily use it for landing pages, SEO, and email blasts.
  • Marketo is fairly easy to navigate and the UX looks nice.
  • Marketo has a lot of bugs.
  • Marketo support does not know how to fix the bugs.
  • Marketo production is down frequently.
  • Marketo does not provide good value and is overpriced, especially for the service received.

We are sending customer nurture email campaigns and also doing lead gen campaigns through Marketo. We also send out our regulatory required documents through email blasts within Marketo.
Manticore is outdated but works much better than marketo.
Marketo may be well suited for a larger company who can receive great support. The support currently offered by Marketo does not seem to cater to a smaller client such as my business. We have yet to receive satisfactory service when our issues arise and have had an overall subpar experience to date.

Learnings & Advice

We successfully use events to integrate with webinar platforms we use and track membership for webinars. The app integrates seamlessly with a lot of webinar hosts such as gotowebinar which helps you and team track your registration and attendance. This is one big perk to marketo as it doesn’t require additional work or plug in a.
We use the API call with Marketo to plug into Litmus. Litmus is where we build our email Templates and we can then automatically sync these templates to our design studio in Marketo for immediate use. It simplifies the process of trying to build our templates which saves us a lot of time.
Use a structured naming system for everything you do in a Marketo. If you don’t, your insurance will get sloppy and you will have trouble keeping track of programs and assets. Also be prepared to experience lags. And never that the auto save system. Make sure everything saves by double. Checking
The Marketo community is a useful tool especially for non coders. Sanford is an especially useful contributor as he spends a lot of time on there and is a super user. When you need a quick fix most answers are available via the community. Check it out first before contacting support.
Make sure you check the community docs first. Marketo support is not the best out there and your account reps don’t help a ton. They also take a long time to get back to you which can be frustrating. Breathe deeply and Marketo will
