Overall Satisfaction with Marketo

Marketo is our main marketing automation platform, [that] [sends] all marketing communications for both audiences in our [two]-sided marketplace. It gives us the ability to send marketing [emails] at [a] scale, with [a] strong integration functionality, [including] our in-house databases, [and to] Salesforce. We also use it for lead gen by creating landing pages and forms; [we use this] to capture and send leads to [Salesforce]. Additionally, we have several nurture tracks built, [which] [uses] a custom data set, [that] [uses] an API integration.
  • Data Customization (CDOs). [...] For more advanced segmentation and personalization in [one- too] many situations. [For example,] if a user has purchased multiple products, I can target based on any of those purchased products.
  • Email Personalization (Velocity Scripting). [...] [This] allows us to use [Java] to really manipulate tokens and CDO data.
  • Efficiency (Program Level Tokens). [...] It makes us more efficient because [we] can clone programs and just edit the tokens of the program.
  • Clunky UI with no "Journey Builder."
  • Could be on cheaper.
  • Product Launches
  • Upsell
  • Cross-Sell
  • Lead Management
  • Prospecting / New Business
  • Other
Marketo allows us to build lead gen funnels for acquisition through landing pages, forms, and nurture emails, but then also allows us to engage with existing clients to upsell different products over time based on the [Salesforce] integration. [...] [This] is huge goal for our company. More leads, [leads to] better engagement, [with a] stronger upsell, [and] more revenue.
[I chose] Marketo [because it] has more advanced data functionality and setup by far.
[Marketo is wel]l suited for medium sized to large sized companies to scale their marketing efforts on the [B2B] side, but also the [B2C] side. Its a pretty functional tool, but needs support from technical resources to really get the right value from it (ie. integrations, advanced email coding, custom tracking, etc.).
