Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We just use MS Project to create Gantt charts and I would say that's all what we use, I know that MS Project can do much more but in my scenario we use it only for Gantt and to exchange Gantt charts with other companies, this was the installed version on my computer.

Pros and Cons

Gantt charts.
Resource management.

Collaboration.
Integration with other software.

Return on Investment

Everybody buys MS Project and after few years changes to online.
I don't see ROI using MS Project.

Alternatives Considered

Microsoft Office 365, Visual Studio IDE, Azure Active Directory, Azure App Service, Azure Databases, Azure DevOps (formerly VSTS), Azure Virtual Machines, Windows Server and Microsoft Flow

Support Rating

I gave this rating because it is not easy to deploy Project web version and the desktop version in today's world has collaboration limitations. I think that Microsoft Teams with how the world is working today is better to manage projects than MS Project. Besides from time to time when you have to plan time and resources it is helpful.

Likelihood to Recommend

MS Project is very good for people who would like to plan project timelines with all dependencies, it is also good when you would like to exchange projects across other organizations because almost everybody has it and you just send a project file and the other person can open it and work.
