Overall Satisfaction with Miro

Law School - I have recently incorporated Miro into my Legal Writing & Analysis class. I use Mind Maps, Concept Maps, and Flowcharts to graphically illustrate the process of legal analysis and the structure of legal writing to first-year law students. I am just starting to use charts to show students how to keep track of research results and create case charts.
  • Illustrating complex structure.
  • Branch out in the types of templates offered - e.g. legal templates.
  • Miro is a very useful tool for helping students understand complex structures.
So far I have been using Miro myself. I will soon be inviting students in my class to join the team.
Miro has been useful while teaching online during the pandemic. It has virtually replaced the whiteboard I typically use at the front of the classroom.

Law School - Legal Writing & Analysis class: I use Miro's Mind Maps, Concept Maps, and Flowcharts to graphically illustrate the process of legal analysis and the structure of legal writing to first-year law students. Legal analysis and legal communication follow a specific structure (IRAC or its variations). Students tend to struggle with understanding and following the structure, particularly when the issue is complicated (i.e. several elements or factors). When I 'map' out the analysis, students can visualize the steps/layers of the analysis. Also, I am just starting to use charts to show students how to keep track of research results and create case charts that track the various issues, elements, or factors. The ability to use different colors helps students identify patterns or common threads from their research.
