Overall Satisfaction with Miro

I'm a Scrum Master for 2 Agile Scrum teams. I use Miro for Retrospectives, story mapping, roadmaps, etc. with each team. I also use it for an Agile Guild I facilitate to keep a backlog of topics we want to discuss during upcoming sessions. Our team of SM's uses it to create training paths for our teams, map out processes, and share ideas. Our Corp Agile COP uses it to for collaboration across the company.
  • Large boards that allow plenty of room for documenting, such as story mapping or years of Retrospectives all in one location
  • Collaboration. Miro helps teams work asynchronously. You add comments & tags to help guide others that join later.
  • Multiple boards under each "project" allows you to separate buckets of work, tasks, features, etc. as needed.
  • Adding members using a distribution list
  • Improved team engagement during Retro
  • Team ice breakers and team building sessions
  • Cross team/ cross program collaboration boards
I was on one of the pilot teams that first used Miro. We used a test region for a couple of weeks and was able to do a little bit of training with our teams. One we were ready to go live, getting the licensing part straight was not a fun process. It took some time to get all my team members a license, access to the board, and basic training on how to use Miro. But, I must say, the benefit has been worth it.
Allows for better asynchronous working on feature & story mapping, adding details for our Retrospectives, etc. Multiple teams can also be granted access to help further the collaboration.

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

Team collaboration during Scrum ceremonies, like Retrospective, is easier in Miro vs. PowerPoint. You have options of using frames like you would slides in PP or you can use one frame for each sprint. It's nice having all my Retrospectives on one board so I can go back and reference an earlier event if I needed to do so. Not all Scrum ceremonies or events need to use the Miro board.
